At first it didn't bother me but after reading the lore i'am not sure i should be gaining Matis fame as a pro Kami Zorai.
I am doing Kami missions for the Hamazans of the Dead Seed in Maiden Grove. There a Matis tribe that came to Zorai to fight the Goo.
Yes they are Matis but surely at this point in time they are outcast or extremist by modern matis standards (pretty sure most of the tribe are female matis with shaved heads)
Did anyone ever get any feedback on fame?, there were a few people tracking fame before xmass.
nb i also get matis fame from helping the workshipers in Cities of Intution
both tribe aware +ve kami fame and -ve karavan

Seems there are some weird things happening with fame from missions etc.
One example I know of is a fedex type mission given by a Karavan aligned Matis NPC to deliver stuff to Kami aligned Zorai. I havn't done it myself yet, but it'd be interesting to see what the fame rewards are for it.

I suggest you read the lore section on Ryzom.com. Everything is explained there.
The tensions on Atys aren't based on race, they're based on the Kami and Karavan factions.
All races has both kami and karavan followers, though the official religion of each region differs.
In the case with Matis, the Zoraï helped the current King to remove the former, Karavan extremist, Matis king from the throne. The current Matis king is far more Kami tolerant than the old one (Wich is why the Zoraï helped) and the introduction of Kami teachings in Matis gained Kami quite a few Matis followers.
A friend of Kami is a friend of the Zoraï, though not always without a certain degree of waryness, even if they happen to be Matis.
Winning the other races over to it's own religion is the goal of all races at the time and that's one of the reasons for the varied alignments of the dissident tribes you find on Atys. They have their own villages because the capitals only allows the practice of official religion inside their gates and for diplomatic reasons, tribes who support other races are kept out as well (To prevent internal conflicts).

I think a lot of its up to how you interpret fame and the game lore, however I have read the lore pages thats what sparked my initial question!
Race is a factor in the troubles on Atys, past histories in the lore section list a lot of incidents and i have a civilization fame reflecting how a race views me.
The problem is iam gaining Matis fame from helping a Matis tribe thats far removed from there home land and at considerable difference with the offical matis viewpoint on Kami interaction.
Some Matis lore quotes.
Who are our enemies
- The Kamis : They are against us bringing order and beauty to the Jena's land. They are an evil scourge and ought to be stamped out.
What are our prohibitions
- It is strictly forbidden to approach the Kamis (unless ordered to do so by the Karavan). They are evil demons and are against the Karavan.
Keeping in mind i also got Tribe fame at the same rate iam gaining Matis fame. A small trickle effect as word of my deeds got back to matis i could understand.

Yea, I'm having trouble understanding current fame too. As a Tryker it seems that I shouldn't be exiled from fellow trykers just for leaning towards the Kami. And its been working the other way too, If i do a local tryker mission my Kami Fame goes down.
Seems like there should be alittle bit more tolerance considering the history of the tryker race, our "main goal is to get back in good standing with the Kami", and while its undestandable to be on good relations with the current Matis governing, historically the matis are 'the sworn enemies of the Trykers'
currently things just don't add up...

I think it's left open-ended so you can choose your own path, but as most Trykers considers Kami to be evil demons, it's logical that they would be suspicious of anyone following the Kami. It should be possible to raise Kami fame without lowering Tryker fame. But you can never get Kami fame without lowering Karavan fame.
All capitals accomodates both Kami and Karavan followers though the opposing faction's Teleport is usually placed a bit outside the city.
Cities only has missions supporting the race and their official religion, to get missions that differs from that, you have to look for a dissident tribe that follows another way and do missions for them instead.

Well Firstly Trykers Don't view Kami as evil demons! Trykers have always adored the Kami! Maybe they're just feeling jaded right now or something...
And it is nice to be able to raise my kami fame without it affecting my tryker fame but vis versa is a huge problem when it comes to encyclopedia content, its currently very hard to be a kami tryker.
