Just wanted to let it be known that there is an issue with the Zorai mask markings. In regional chat, we've been getting reports of people not being able to see the mask markings of other players, myself included. Everyone i see has the blank white masks, and rare is when I can see the markings on anyone else. I can see my own markings just fine, but I think ive seen maybe 1 other person with markings.

I can confirm that. Well, many can. This issue has been around pretty long time now, from the first open beta if memory serves. Don't know how to remedy it, but I don't care as long I see mine ;)
Not entirely sure that has it got to do with display modes, I can almost swear that sometimes I see other peoples tattoos as well and sometimes I can't, and I do alternate between display modes every now and then (depends where I am, as I crash in certain locations under D3D, and OpenGL doesn't work right in some situations)

Are you sure it's just not that no one is using anything but the plain white mask as the colored ones are just plain ugly?

Like said, this issue has been around pretty long.
I've seen plenty of screenshots where I don't have any tattoos (or in this case markings) even though I most certainly have. Look this screenshot for example: http://www.tip.it/ryzom/officersonboulder.jpg. Almost everyone in that screenie has markings, but the person who took it can't see any of them (you can guess who's taking the pic there ;P).

There must be an issue, because my friend I play with, who did not choose a tattoo, occasionally sports different tatts every time i see him.
And he commented that mine was gone once.
So it would seem there is a display issue with char markings.
No biggie.
