lucky guess?
but it had to be Jena though, the way she is portrayed as almost a keeper of the planet on the box cover.
But Jena, Goddess of the sun, creator of Atys, got wind of the Dragon's plans and filled his body with eternal fire to prevent him breathing coldness and extinguishing the living light. The Goddess then conjured the light anew so provoking the Green Rising so that the homins could live again in harmony in a bountiful world.

Jena is the goddess who rescued all homins from destruction by the Great Dragon.
Unfortunately, the legends (old forum posts by Vince) are largely lost to us right now.

People have posted that they believe Jena to be a human that came to the planet with technology that would be alien to the races and destroyed the great dragon(probably another spaceship help by some evil alien race) and her technology made her look like a goddess and she became worshipped as such. The Karavan would be those she left behind to keep watch possibly.
I'm probably telling it wrong, but that's what I've got from what people have stated as their opinion of who/what she is.

I believe I have all the "lore" cross posted, as well as the fan sites... it's hardly lost.
However, it was not Jena that rescued anyone... She stopped the dragon early on when the homins were tricked by him into coming to Atys and then he planned to extinguish the light.
It was Elias Tryton that saved the homins, and not from the dragon... from the Kitins... He appeared in different forms and led selected homins from each race into the rainbow portal down into the Prime Roots. Our ancestors are descendants of those that emerged from the roots when they were told it was safe.... Elias Tryton, they say, may be Jena's husband or something... this is not well described in the lore...

This is the Tryker theory
Matis think he's a messenger of Jena, Zoraïs think he's a great Kami, etc...

Correct, Jena saved the homins from the Dragon. My mistake was the she saved the homins from slavery and not destruction but resuce them she did.
Mythology
The homins lived on an impoverished planet until the Great Dragon, the prince of darkness, came and seduced them with visions of crystal waters and a land of plenty. After leading them to Atys, the Dragon endeavored to extinguish the sunlight there and in the cold and dark reduce the homins to slavery.
