Choppy sky?

Hello all..
Quick question here. I don't remember if it was always like this or if this is something new, but I'm noticing that the sky in-game is very choppy in its movement.. Clouds used to scroll by smoothly, now they sorta "stutter" past.. same with the night sky, when the stars are showing, and the planet as it's rising, etc..
Is there a way to fix this? I tried messing with the settings, but couldn't find anything to smooth it out again..
Thanks in advance!
Mike

I noticed that too. It looks terrible. But that's only when you try and notice it. Just wandering around and fighting and stuff it still makes a nice backdrop. I like it better when it's smooth though.

Hmm.. I wonder what would cause that all of a sudden, though? I could swear it wasn't like that at launch...

It's been like that since i've joined, which was a week or two after patch one.

Agreed, it's always been like that. You can adjust the update speed from the in-game configuration; but, even the maximum doesn't smooth the movements completely.

and now an excerpt of a talk with one of the german senior-gms:
10:40:15 <liubee> die alten wirst du nicht wieder sehen
10:40:26 <liubee> das waren nur Beta-Wolken
10:40:45 <liubee> zu comichaft für Ryzom .
translation:
10:40:15 <liubee> you won't see the old ones again
10:40:26 <liubee> those were only beta-clouds
10:40:45 <liubee> too comic-like for ryzom.
but it's not all dark on the horizon, our community manager says he's sent message to nevrax that the clouds are really missed =)

Wow... those look great! Those were removed.. why?
Also, as for the choppy movement, I've adjusted the "update" slider to both extremes, and points in-between and see no difference. And it's not just the clouds. The moon, the stars, anything that's part of the sky moves like it's attached to some clock's second-hand.
I know it wasn't always like that. Maybe they did it in a recent patch to improve performance in another area of the game?
In any case, though some (probably many) won't even notice it, I'm a freak when it comes to environment detail.. and Ryzom has some of the most ambient and detailed environments I've ever explored in. So when a planet is "jumping" its way across the sky.. it sorta jumps out at me.
I remember the clouds blowing by really fast - and smoothly - when I first started a character in Fyros land. It was amazing.. you'd see a thunderstorm going on, the trees are blowing like mad and the clouds are wizzing by.. Was very convincing.
Be great if they could bring that back.

I didn't realize that the clouds were missed so much. I, too, will state to Nevrax that the community wants them back. I will also mention the "chopiness" of the sky in its current state.
