This is an off-shoot from my other poll about DP (Death Penalty). Someone pointed out the fact that (in our opinion) it seems pretty stupid that you can work off your DP gained through battle by harvesting/crafting.

So this is yet another poll.

And as a side issue, crafting should not remove DP either.
On the other hand, you should still be able to gain XP for crafting or harvesting if you have a DP from battle.

I thought about that, but didn’t want to make it too complex. Simple polls work better.

Yikes. It seems as if the harvesters are winning.

Okay. I could live with harvesting removing DP at half the rate it does now
(and half applied to XP gain).
Crafting XP however should never go against DP.

As a fighter/harvestor I remove DP both ways and could care less.

However, how does a pure fighter who was killed by somebody else source explosion remove their DP?

How does a pure harvestor killed by an aggro remove their DP?

If you were harvesting and were attacked, would the DP be harvesting?
If you had a sword equiped and ran by a harvestor that blew a source and killed you, would you take a melee dp?
If you were wielding a 1h weapon and died to a monster carying a gun would the dp you take be 1h or ranged?
If you were wielding a gun during battle and died would you take dp on ranged or hand to hand since it bit you to death?
If you were crafting while in the forest and you got killed would you take crafting dp?
If it took you 5 hours harvesting to get 400 mats on your mektoub, and a ragus came along and ate your packer, killed you, and ran off, how much dp would you take?
Would you ask that a packer have dp, so that he can die, be reborn in town with all your stuff and you have to help your packer work off the dp?
If you died while crafting heavy armor in the wilderness, would you take heavy armor dp or would you take crafting dp in general?
If you could run by a medical office in the game and pay to have your dp removed, would you opt to do this?
If you died and instead of having dp, you lost literal expierence in a given skill would you opt for this type of death penalty?
If you did not get any dp for dieing in general, would you care about death?

so if i get killed by a mob while harvesting, is that considered harvesting death or fighting death? If i'm running to a harvesting spot and get aggroed is that harvesting death of fighting death? Dying is Dying. The formula for death xp is standard, (Level * XP)/10

If battle DP and harvest DP were tracked separately, a pure fighter would not care about his harvest DP. Similarly, a pure harvester would not care about his battle DP.

I don't think it really matters... DP is DP. It shouldn't matter how you get rid of it, it's annoying all the same.
