Should DP be removed?

Just a simple poll... might be more effective than the other discussion, I thought.

Im just a newbie here but im for increasing it. I love the way its handled - you lose no exp - simply a debt to be paid back. That said, when I die, (and i have been doing so with amazing consistancy) all i have to do is like 2 kills or a forage or 2. Thats hardly a penalty to me. My deaths in EQ can take HOURS to recoup. 5 minutes hardly seems harsh.

It seems to be proportionate to your level, though, so when youre at higher levels it can take much longer since, even though your DP is much higher, you still get the same amount of XP for critters equivelent to your level.

I think death could definitely use a bit more "sting" in Ryzom.
Using FFXI as one extreme (lose XP, possible to lose a level, etc..) and WoW as the other (a slap on the wrist would be worse), in my experience, I think Ryzom right now sits on the easier side of dead center between the two.
As an aside, the idea of being able to harvest to work off DP gained by dying in battle never made much sense to me, either.

Yes, but your death penatly multiplier also increases with your level.
At lvl 140, I only need to kill 3 mobs that give me 2800 xp to pay off my DP. Not much different of the 2 Scavenging Igaras I had to kill when I was lvl 70 or the 2 yubos I had to kill when I was lvl 10.

i like the dp, it's not too harsh yet it's not too easy
you aren't totally nerfed and have to find your corpse to get stuff back, nor do you lose lvls nor do you get slapped on the wrist and only possibly lose coin to get eq repaired

Screw it, just make it permanent death, I'd be just as happy to play. You don't get rezzed in that 5 minute time, too bad, start over.

I can't believe anyone else feels the way I do. Yay, zzeii. But we are in a tiny minority here (or any other MMO for that matter).
Doctor Z.

I hope for your good that you too don't get flamed to death
anyway, I agree death should have a little sting, because right now, death is more like:
"ah crap. now I have to spend, like, 10 minutes fixing my dp. rabblerabble"
I may only be level 46/36/26, but from what I've heard, it stays pretty much the same as you level up. Maybe is should be noticibly harder for higher level people?

Yeah, and have a cummulitiv exp penalty of, say, 50%. So your next character progresses even slow, that will teach people to take more care.
I for one am looking forward to the huge battles on newbie island, where 50 people battles a single suckling yubo for hours to get a exp each.
