Seems to be a problem with the fonts.bnp file. I have the correct file to fix this. You can download it here:

http://home.comcast.net/~xerosleep/stuff/fonts.bnp

Go to your Ryzom folder. Then go to the "unpack" folder. Replace the old fonts.bnp with this new one. And that should do it :)

Next time, just try deleting everything in the unpack directory.

Didn't work for me either, in addition, after the first runtime error all my flags from map were gone, and believe me i had a lot of them,, <sighs> and i can't add them back without crashing.

I can't but be afraid of each patch now, everytime there is a patch my game goes boom and breaks, then when i finally get it working again, they patch again and the same thing happens over and over...

Just a side note, be sure to delete everything in your Ryzom/unpack folder first, then download and put the fonts.bnp file in the directory.

I tried. It seemed to work fine the first time and I got in to where it checked for the new paches.

There were none, but it still wanted to pach and then reatart.

After this, teh problem returned and this solution doesn't achieve anything any more. I keep getting that 'can't create window' message.
