Guess this is one of those (many) game features I haven't discovered yet. What is
in-game email, how do you use it, how does it differ from sending a tell?
And what are in-game forums?
Thanks.

I can't comment on the new system as I haven't checked it out yet but the in-game email system allowed you to send an email to another player. This was different than tells as you could send an email to an offline player. In fact, I think that's probably the most useful thing about an in-game email system.
The problem was, it never told you when a new message arrived. You had to manually check. Hopefully one of the improvements in the new system.

do the following: press F1 for several seconds and keep it pressed, int he window that pops up search mail and click it, then close that window
you gain access to guild internal forums once you join a guild

well, i haven't used it much but from what i know is that its alot like the tell systems except the player your communicating with doesn't need to be online at the time. simply enter their name and then your message.
as far as i know there is no notifacation system to let you know you have a message. i had a e-mail sitting for a few weeks because of this. so, unless there is one that i never notticed i would suggest having one of your UI setting keys (F1 - F4 i think is the default)that opens your e-mail window alng with some other whidows like guild chat if you are in a guild. i have my F1 UI (default mode at game startup) with stuff like e-mail so i can check messages when i first sign in and then switch to one of my other modes for playing.
hope that helped!

It's where I had peoples names whom I didn't know how to spell and hadn't added to my friends list yet because I had not been able to catch them online.

That is extremely helpful. Thanks very much!
Never have checked my email, since I didn't know about it. Now I'm starting to wonder if I've got any (been playing >1 month).
