Ryzom

Brand new to Ryzom! Gonna have tons of questions. Bear with me please. Game defaults to running in a windowed mode. Is this normal? If not, how do I go to full screen? Seems to be a bit laggy as well. That normal as well?
And, while I have your attention, any great web sites for lottsa game info and tips? Seems theres much to learn. Been an EQ er for 4 years now and I guess its time to explore other possibilites! Thanks all! Was in game for a bit yesterday and folks seem much more friendlier than EQ. It was nice!

Actually, the game defaults to running at full screen mode, so something seems to be askew....

You should post some more information about your system, but I think it would be a good Idea to move this topic to the "Technical Support" board

Best information you'll get is probably right here in these forums. One other place you might want to look is http://ryzom.l9c.org There are maps and a nice listing of mobs and their names there.

To change the mode and resolution, use the "Configure Ryzom" link that's in your start menu in the Ryzom program folder.

Another site I'm particularly fond of is http://www.ballisticmystix.com ('cause I develop it) Right now, it's most useful for a crafter as it's got resources and their stats so you can compare and find the best for a particular stat. It's also got mob listsings and we're currently working on adding detailed maps so we can show actual locations of mobs, resources, tribes, npcs, etc.

Another thing you might want to try is to go into the properties of your taskbar and uncheck the box that says to keep it above other windows. I had the same problem until I did that. Hope that helps!

About windowed mode : i was running the game with the same resolution as my desktop and it was always in windowed mode, even if my configuration was full screen. I changed the configuration for 3D from automatic to Direct3d and its running fine now.

oh boy. i hope that works trosky! ima try that now... it was pissing me off for the longest...
