The Solution IS Dilution... KITIN BEGONE!

Recently people have been complaining about extra mobs hanging around certain areas. Well people, did you ever think that maybe, partially, it is YOUR fault? I mean really. Nevrax even says,
"A Lush, Living Ecosystem
The world of Atys is alive, with a rich and diverse ecology where flora and fauna dynamically interact with each other and the ever-changing environment. Nothing is static in Ryzom.
Massive Territorial Invasions
Ryzom's RAID Engine delivers excitement on a large scale. Monsters will assault key outposts, dynamically invade territories, and devastate entire regions
if left unchecked. "
So it is our responsibility at some point to group together and cleanse the routes we want open. What? It's getting nasty just outside of town? Time to send out the troops and clear the area. Seriously, if we just let bears eat out of our garbage can, then we'd have a whole family of em back in my back yard. Not that I have bears in the city, but it's the same concept. Maybe you guys need to call an exterminator.

P.S. YES I know that there are certain ares which are nigh inaccessible now, regardless of level... nevrax has announced another "tuning" coming up shortly, likely with Tuesdays patch. So I want to hear more ideas about when, where, why, and what to kill. We should be tracking these agro creatures more carefully. I spent three hours last weekend in Wastelands tracking Patrols to see what their routes were. I am a char with only 1200 hp, and rarely have too much trouble getting through nasty areas... use your radars people, and realize PATS have a much wider range of agro. i.e. you won't find yourself sneaking up on a pat very often.
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT have patience. I have waited hours for kincher guards to move... if you still want PR forage you are going to have to be careful.

After spending several hours in the Trench of Trials with a good strong group we discovered patrol routes altered, and coming far more frequently through different areas than before. Ofcourse this ended up wiping out our entire group several times, clearly showing us that nigh on all foragable materials in Trench of Trials are inaccessible at this time.

Let me just second Fuzz there and also let me say that when Fuzz and I and our 'usual' crew went down there, we were pretty much the same group that made the trip from MinCho to Yrankis. In fact, we made (and fought) our way from Avendale to Yrk without a single wipe with only 6 people. With only four of us, an awesome kincher no longer gives full XP (although you really do need two healers <grin>). We are in 'of an age' where we can kill pretty much any non-boss mob in the ToT, and experienced raiders, sneakers and explorers all. We have harvesters with PR specs and high level jungle and PR forage skills. It seems to me that we are in the level range that is 'supposed to be' or 'meant' to be there, if such a thing exists.
The kitin patrols were there in pretty much the same numbers, but there was roughly 30 seconds between patrols going through the area where some of them were once a day or even every 5 minutes. Where there used to be about 4 or 5 individual varinx, there were packs of 4+ spaced every 20m. Where there were 6 guard kinchers there was a solid wall. I know some of the tyranchas and such are seasonal, and I'm hoping that this is a seasonal thing for the mob densities.
I have commented on it before. Each patch, popular areas come back covered in aggro. I'm at the point of believing that the devs run a report that displays amount of mats removed from the areas and push the 'aggro' button on the ten highest. It's the only way I can explain kinchers living inside a kami town and the fact that the 'usual' spots are almost all inaccessible after a patch.
That being said, ToT was ridiculously easy to navigate in portions previously. Hopefully a fair middle will found. High aggro is one thing, and a good way to keep things 'level appropriate' if you insist on such things, but kitin patrols are something else. We needed something like 3 or 4 groups just to kill one patrol, and there would be no way any raid could keep up with
three patrols, with one crossing the area every thirty seconds.
Tin.

I DID hear someone say this was a "cycle" that happened before. I also heard cerest (or someone else in support? or patch notes?) say that in one of the upcoming patches, mobs guarding PR will be lessened again. This is also tied into talk of chapter 2 by the support. See where I'm going with this? 8)
I'd advise for now trying regions other than ToT. After maxing my DP, I found a place to get sap scot-free and a patch of fiber with a once-in-a-blue-moon patrol. Resin is still a freebie in ToT -- I haven't looked for oil yet, doing that tonight, but that's all I need to grind up LA again. I'm sure it's accessable someplace :)

I was harvesting in windy gate and one of the spot I harvest there is a LOT of migration of aggros. Sometimes it will be empty, then I'll see a herd of kinchers coming which will aggro on the harvest spot, then a herd of kipee will come, as well as a herd of zerx and horncher, after they are there awhile the kinchers will leave. Makes harvesting interesting, although, I feel safe to say it is not possible to harvest a stack of 99 anything in Trench of Trials (except Moon Resin and Yana Wood) without maxing out your DP and taking a few hours, if not more.

I like posts that whine about whining more, they take threads off into pointless flames detracting from the original topic. gj.
Q: Now who said they hadn't read about the recent and upcoming changes?
A: Noone
To discuss the current state of gameplay is not to be ignorant of changes yet to come. Easy on your assumptions, there can't be an assumption without an ass in there somewhere.

Every PR that I have tried to work my way into is guarded to NO end. I have yet to even be able to get out of the portal tunnels.
IF hunting these mobs will thin them out...then so be it. I will do MY part to help get the materials needed to arm the army, not high enough level to actually FIGHT, but I will help in any way I can.
I for one think that talking PVP when these BEASTS are taking over OUR world is insane, I don't CARE about killing another Homin until EVERY one of those BUGS is dead.
I Say we pull out the can of RAID and kick some Kitin RUMP!

It appears to me after a while of trying to hammer past the guards (first time in in weeks) that they're tighter to the tunnels in general, and waiting for them to move or hammering at them isn't too doable solo anymore. Anyone else notice this?
