Can you please explain this? (re: More aggro mobs?)

Cerest's post on the mob population:

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7936

Can we please get an explanation of what exactly the new mob placements are supposed to fix? Because it seems to me that, whatever the problem was, the fix was a dozen times worse.

Thank you for looking into matters.

To me, it just looks like mobs are now in their proper location, exactly like Cerest said. For example in Matis lands the level 200+ mobs are now in the Hovel and the Grove like they are suppossed to be, not in the middle of an average level area. Now the higher level characters have to travel further and explore more to level, whereas the newer characters can remain closer to the towns and more common areas.

I spent a lot of time last night running around with my group of level 200 friends and our suspicions were confrimed. We can run all the way to the grove almost without catching an aggro mob. But once we start getting near mobs that are closer to our level it starts getting harder and harder and this is where the mobs are suppossed to be hard. You aren't suppossed to have level 220 Ocyx and Jugula right by a medium level harvesting spot. It's balanced and moved where they should be.

Hence, I can confrim what Cerest has said. It does appear that mobs are moved to proper level areas. It would appear that the general population got too used to having things in the wrong places and things being too easy to complete. Now things are right and the way it was intended to be, and this can also go back to Raynes' thread on people needing to get used to the fact that Atys is suppossed to be a true world. Things move, resources dry up, etc. Atys is not a happy place. We are here to rebuild it - how can we rebuild something that is too easy in the first place. We need a challenge. Part of what Ryzom offers is a challenge, Atys is the first phase of this challenge. if we realize that this is what Atys is about and conquer this we can move to the next phase.

Hehe, sorry, think I got off on too much of a tangent there. But thats my two cents on the mob changes and then some. I jsut ask that we try and work together to discover these changes and make them known so we can help rebuild Atys. Not sit around and sulk because things aren't incredibly easy anymore.

I agree wholeheartedly with Teleios on the mob shifts in Matis civilization, it was an overdue fix and the way mobs once were in that region. I can assume any other nation that had level 200+ mobs in a 101-150 zone has also been corrected.

I cannot discount that there may be additional mobs either, I am just not sure anything has been added. We are in one of the most difficult migration periods for those of us that dig frequently in the Prime Roots. This cycle was a bear the last time it occured as well, due to mob placements. It still "seems" that there are slightly more mobs now, but it may just seem that way because of this "in your face" migration. The next migration cycle will allow a better assessment as this is the least common pattern right now (thankfully).

The good side to this after repeatedly bug reporting all the aggroless regions and Prime Roots that occured after the server restart prior to Friday's Karavan/Kami mission, is that I dont see all the new folks in the Prime Roots anymore. :D It's just the normal maniac's...

No! Wrong! You should be able to access everything, anywhere, and at any time! In fact, I think aggro is a rediculous aspect of the game, and should be immediately thrown out. My ql80 sword should do 4000 damage every 2 seconds, my armor should make me invulnerable, and I should instantly be awarded the best items in the game JUST to make my gaming experience fun.

/end sarcasm

Oh, I didn't even get to touch on fame. One mission with each tribe should give me at least 400 fame. I demand to have teleportation abilities... I mean, what fun is a game if I can't get to wherever I want to go in mere seconds?

This game sucks. :(

PR areas should be very tough, IMO. Only a few of us are of "appropriate" level to legitimately be there anyway. It should be tough -- it's a high level area, that we still don't have much business being in, from a level standpoint 8)

The only thing that's a shame IMO is that we already saw all the areas of the place we weren't meant to experience till very high levels.

Lagoon of Loria has q250 mats...

Used to have lvl 150-200 mobs, now has lvl 200+ mobs...

Grove of confusion has q250 mats...

Used to and still does have lvl 200+ mobs...

The Void has q250 mats...

Used to and still does have lvl 200+ mobs...

Not 100% sure....but...Scorched Corridor has q250 mats (I think?)...

Used to and still does have lvl 200+ mobs...

Hornkan (violet/fuscia 2 big star boss) had great horncher gaurds (all violet/fuscia 4 star mobs). He lives in Loria...

Before and after patch 27...

Zerkya (violet fuscia 2 big star boss) had great zerx guards (all violet/fuscia 4 star mobs). She lives in the Void...

Before and after patch 27...

Rational enough for you?
