Attack after Dodge (again)

I know this topic was posted a little while ago, but I couldn't find the thread to add to it, my apologises.

I understand the basics of this stanza (I think) but I am actually having a little trouble justyfing a reason to use it.

I have a created an attack using this stanza, and sure enough when I dodge I hit this action and I carry out my attack. Even in the system window it says that I "took the opening".

When I "took the opening", do I stop him from his next scheduled attack? As it seems that my dodge attack still took the same amount of time required to pull the attack. After the attack, it reverts back to my standard attack - as expected. All of these attacks only execute after the action bar has filled, which is puzzling me in the purpose of the special attack as I may as well leave my player using my standard attack.

After taking the opening, has this served a purpose? What advantage does this "new attack" have over my standard "hit for all its worth" attack?

If someone could post their attack stanza's for their standard attack and their Attack after dodge attack I might begin to see a purpose in using it.

Sorry for the longish post, I'm trying to explain it as best as I could. I want to make the most of the skills Ryzom has to offer, but I need to understand the advantages of this and similar skills before I can properly use them.

Thanks.

Good question - I'm still not clear about this & the, I assume, similar Attack after parry. Up to now I've always just gone for the jugular with the hardest attack I can hit with :)

uhhhh well duh =/ when you "take the opening" it means you have used the attack after dodge you are combinging it with inc dmg of course? as when you use it you use it for 0 cost thats what the point of the skill is you can fight a mob with no stam using default attack and use the attack after dodge/inc dmg skill when you dodge for 0 stam/hp instead of the 50 stam it takes for just inc dmg 6

attack after dodge is free credit for when you dodge, for example have a -75 attk after dodge brick gives you a free attack of up to +75 points to spend on it, saving you stamina and hp. Of course you can still add hp and stam to make the attk bigger :)

I use it all the time when I melee and is good with a nice set of high dodge equipt :p

You get to make the same attack with a lower sta/hp cost...

Bloody server is patching so I can't check to list them...

But when attacks start using 100sta 50hp a full forced swing (200+/100+ in heavy armor) having the chance for reducing this cost as much as you can is not a bad idea. Personally I have attack after dodge(when in LA) attack after parry(when in HA) and attack after crit(either la or ha). They make a great reduction in cost.

Not always necessary when you have a healer. But when things get bad, I'd rather have the healer heal my hp than have to worry about fixing my sta as much :D

They are implimented but not listed on the live servers. They are listed on ATS. The difference on dodging between basic grade armor and supreme grade w/max dodge mod is quite noticable on live.

i would probably guess if there on ats that they are part of chapter 2 story line and still not implemented yet as the elemental protections are the same show 0% but guess what you actually have 0% ive tested it :) full set of acid protection jewelry and the dmg done to me with acid changes by the factor of 0 maybe we all have found our ability to dodge/parry due to the kami/karavan giving us performance enhancing drugs?

Thanks for all the constructive replies.

I *now* have a full understanding of how to use it.

In essense, its a credit so that I don't have to use stam or hp!

Bingo.

Gonna test this tonight.

They show 0 on the weapon stats but if you construct a weapon out of high dodge mats, then you do tend to dodge the same mobs at the same level a lot more. I tested this extensivly a while back and it still works for me now.

Jewelry spell protection isnt working on live yet however.
