Petition for our GMs

Many of you have noticed and commented on our excellent GMs. However, when discussing them, I have heard a common complaint: They're powerless! As of now, they seem to be able to move you wherever, but they lack some of the basic powers we have. For example, yesterday, when trying to replicate the Clopper bug for Takashi, I died. I asked if he could rez me and he responded "I have no healing powers."
I had gotten the items for a mission and when returning it to the hunter, the items got destroyed. I wouldn't be able to get the items back, even if I relooted. The GMs couldn't do anything, even if I showed them I could kill the mob. These are the best GMs of any MMO and they can't do many things that we can. So Nevrax, please make our GMs stronger!

Hmmm, I was testing out some bugs with Mindadar the other day and she was able to heal.

gm chars have to be leveled up like any other char

Takashi usually prefers to level knitting to high lvls before anything else

Xeno, where did you get this info. I have personally BEEN a volunteer guide for EQ(I know different game, but the reasoning behind why the guides/gms were the way they were in EQ is the same regardless of game). In EQ your guide account and play account were different, and you were FORBIDDEN to play on the server you were guiding on, including the guide charcter. Now WHY would they set this limit...easy enough...you do NOT want a conflict of interests.
Basically on EQ gm's had more power than guides, but:
guides could answer petitions
rez using an item
port self to ANY safe point in game
Port self to any player in game as long as they had the name spelt correctly
Summon player to ANY point in game...provided the player had the expansion that zone was in.
Kill trapped mobs or under the world mobs, using a code that was hard to get to fuction, but SOMETIMES worked. (killing a mob was RARELY done, but I did kill one or two mobs in the six months I worked as a guide).
Now when they were PERMITTED to use those powers, and even when they CHOSE to use them...that was a different matter. I tended to help anyone I was by the rules permitted to. BUT if a player was rude, I had the right to not help them, and on one or two occassions...I used that right.
GM's could change their size, shape, race, NAME, visablity statis (GM invis was NOT detectable by ANY player for ANY reason, period), They could port to ANY spot in game using code numbers for the locations and summon players to "jail" zone, basically a code box with wierd stuff on the walls.
Things NEITHER could do was:
cast ANY spell
agro ANY mob
kill OR loot ANY mob
heal anyone or anything.
give out quest, NPC, or other "game info" like the stuff that EQ atlas etc had on them.
Kill any god mob for ANY reason, this would have to be done with a server shut down and respawn change.
Guides had to have GM permission to enter MANY zones in game, and MOST of the time had a gm with them when they did.
So the idea that GM's have to take time out of petition answering to LEVEL the character is frankly LAUGHABLE.
YES the EQ guides and gm's DID level, to my surprise, but it was a bonus and title thing, If you were a guide for three months, you gained ten levels and an item in game that could be seen during cons that stated that you had been serving for three months, it did NOTHING else. You did NOT gain spells, you did not gain anything but a title and a bit of jewelery and a thank you.
Senior guides got a FEW more abilities, and another badge, but considering the time that they had put into that post...they earned EVERY last bit of that abilities.

because i had a ticket once with a lvl 50+ spell and the gm said his char wasn't high enough for that and he had to get another one who was high enough

If you read my post, you will read about the play accounts. I know GM's in EQ were REQUIRED to play as much as possible when on their off time at home, but their accounts were seperate from their gm account. I am willing to bet money that this gm meant just that, his PLAY character was not high enough level, so he had to find another gm that HAD a play character that WAS high enough level.

Mindadar can rez using heals and demonstrated different higher level spells before in a zorai city, this must've been in the first 2 weeks of the game so I doubt they have to level them up, Xenofur.

i had one of them standing right next to me, standard tryker char with high-q armour and that big-ass pink stick telling me his def aff wasn't high enough, make of that what you want ...

Prolly something simple, like some abilities (setting your own level) being allowed by a GMs particular rank. And for every 1 thing we think of, there are 10 things we don't think of. Ask a GM or something next time you open a ticket :)
