Shadows of Dementia are recruiting...

Greeting homins

The Shadow's are now recruiting. We are looking for members of all levels and abilities to join us in supporting the kami. We value players with a good attitude and ability to have fun rather than power-levelers or flame monsters :D We are a democratic guild run by a council, and pride ourselves on having an open and friendly structure. /grouphug

We are predominately a Zorai guild and therefore aligned with the Kami rather that the Karavan, with the Icon Worshippers rather than the Zora Korvan, etc. and aim to play a full role as the story of Atys is revealed. When implemented, guild missions will be used to allow us as a guild and as individuals to have a direct impact on how the ‘big picture’ evolves on Arispotle. We intend to play our part in defending our homeland against kitin invasion, capturing and holding outposts and rescuing suckling yubo stuck up trees etc - you get the picture.

We are a friendly guild made up of mature (attitude not necessarily age) players. We play in the spirit of the game as intended by Nevrax and will expect you to treat everyone you meet with the utmost respect (other players of all levels, GMs and guildmates). Unfortunately, certain mobs exist that only understand and respect one type of interaction – the application of extreme violence. As a guild member, if you come into contact with such a mob, you will naturally be expected to do them the courtesy of applying the necessary interaction liberally with the best weapon you have at your disposal.

If this sounds interesting then send a /tell to a ranked member (rushin, mephisto, dhenji, sami, aphrodite or thiede), or shout when you see any of the guild around :)

I did the IQ test that was advertized on that page and ended up with an IQ of 127.
So it appears that you CAN be quite bright and yet mad as a hatter. ;)

This guild isn't full of demented people though, the name is probably more of a reflection of how others might view our laid back attitude towards what others considers serious situations - having your entire team eaten alive by Torbaks can be hilarious if it's done with style. ;)
And of course, Zoraï are always in the shadow of Wiherings's vast, westmost area called 'Knot of Dementia', wich seems to almost engulf Zora if you look on a map.

There's a very good description of what the guild is about on our website. You can click my sig too if you want to go there (Just don't try to click both Rushin's and mine at once because it's very hard, i tried.).

Dementia, nice one.... everyone knows what it means dont twist it tbh i would suggest you reform with a name more suited. some people may even find this offensive, i am not saying that i do, i am just saying. but hey its your guild at the end of the day.

Hmmm, don't twist it? offensive? ...are we hearing devil worship when playing our records backwards??
Are we the shadows you see in the Dementia region or are we showing signs of Dementia? Who knows, it's a name, u say Tomato I say Tomarto. Perhaps a name change would be in order say, Devine Rulers of Zora, or maybe Council of Zora Supreme Beings?? naa that's self dellusion...... now THAT is a form of Dementia. :p

And......hugeDan, huh nice, everyone knows what it means, don't twist it, tbh I would suggest a name change to something more suited to a public forum as some may find it offensive! not me personally, after all its just a name isnt it? not a descriptor or dellusion of one's own endowment??

As a guild I can say that theyre a great bunch of ppl and we have a huge laugh playing the game. Don't get me wrong, we have our spats, sometimes annoy eachother, run off and saulk and wish to be alone, of course we do, we are all real ppl at the end of those wires after all. However, we will never refuse to take anyone along on a hunt regardless of level. We will never exclude classes from persuing other goals or from having a say in the way we operate. We will however guarantee fun, laughter, fine humour, good banter, fast nd furious hunting, leisurely foraging and a good old chin wag round the camp fire.

So, come along, spend some time with us, don't knock it until you've tried it, you never know, you may want to hang up your coat nd hat and call our place home.

Best wishes.

Mephisto.

hugedan is my log-in name i chose(and in fact if you knew me would know it is related to original nick from 1998 huge_32nd_man a star fleet command fleet from GSA), i did not actually choose it to be my public forum nick, i would of obviously chosen scorpious, as my nick has been scorpious on various games for well over 5 years. Last time i check we were the divine council of pyr not rulers which is more dictatorship enlined ( i know i cant spell nvm) not sure if you ment that directly at us or not.

my views on there name at the end of the day are my views and opinions not a ruling and i have never thought otherwise. I did not mean to knock them personally in anyway i was simply pointing out the name of the guild.

anyway i did not mean this to turn into a flame thread so i will leave at that i have said my bit as have you, see you in game

Regards
ScoRpiouS

Well I certainly don't want to get involved in what I consider to be a sad attack on the naming preferences of fellow players (particularly considering the current state of guilds in the game i.e. folding left, right & centre). One would think in these difficult times players would be trying to encourage the formation and strengthening of other guilds. *Shakes head* nice one Scorp - way to go on expanding your guild alliance. But, as you say yourself, prob best to let this lie and not hijack a simple recruitment thread, so - 'nuff said from me. I will say no more on the subject.

But, what I really do want to say is that these guys are the best bunch I've been fortunate enough to play with in any MMORPG. A wee bit of background - I don't play the game anymore, I simply found something more suited to my style of play & moved on. So, what the heck am I doing on these forums? Why don't I just *bleep* off and post on the forums for the game I'm currently playing? The answer is simple, its down to friendship. I consider these guys to be friends & I'm genuinely interested in how things develop for them and the rest of you guys in Ryzom. Oh, and I subscribed for a year so that must give me some rights :)

So, to those with more ***** than I, who are sticking things out with the game when I didn't, well, respect to you all and a recommendation to throw your lot in with Rushin, Mephisto, Dhenji and the rest of the Shadows. Personal experience suggests you won't regret it. Not for a second.

Peace.
