It’s a thread about some peoples that I’ve try the new quest actually in test in ATS.

Notes these things are based on a direct google translation with some modification.

1. A guy has started a quest name “artisan turned sour” (direct translation). The quest giver has asked him to go see Sirgia Pisi, a renowned jewel crafter. Sirgia tell him that a bad crafter like him could not even do a animal foot necklace but like the time is short she accept the he help her (very RP). Sirgia then sell her the crafting materials needed to craft the neckacle. At each craft, the sarcastic Sirgia give him some money. At the end, she is giving him the name of the supplier that needed those necklaces. When talking to the suppliers he’s in ecstasy about the for the size of the creation of Sirgia(another injustice on Atys). The guy then returns to Yrkanis without any pay and go to see Sirgia again, it says to me that it excuses its roughness returns to me my money in addition to one cubic of amber containing the greatest secret of Atys(features not implemented)

2. Another one has seen a guard offering a new specials matis spell in exchange of a quest.

3. The barman in Pyr tavern offers 2 quests. Escort supplier with his 2 mektoub to his tavern with his water supplies and another one To make a race in the desert according to a tradition of the water hunters in order to gain a plan which will give the armours more resistance

I think that there’s some great thing coming in Ryzom with patch 2. That with the encyclopaedias, pvp and outpost will bring a lot new stuff to the Ryzom universe.

Well well well, someone is happy

These quests sound like missions, however, because they seem much more in-depth, and require more player involvement (escort someone is more involved than kill x creatures of type y, in my opinion), and have a story to them, I think that we should all enjoy them very much.

So Nevrax, so far, it sounds good, just keep taking it slow and putting thought into it, and there will be more happy homins

One of the coolest thing in those missions is they sometime offer some new crafting plan and specials Spells. It's a lot better than dapper(who need them anyway)

Aren't the only two things different about quests and missions (or tasks) is that they have story content that advance and aren't repetitive? A nice add on feature would be if you got to choose more of an outcome...like giving the necklace to someone else for Kami poodoo instead of amber cubits.

I wonder if any quests will ever give xp...like those escort ones.

Yes folks there is content comming in the next patch. Content in a HUGE way. All the generic outposts you are used to seeing... upgraded. You will now be able to tell what camp you are at by the look of the buildings.

I've been playing with the Zorai missions that are on the ATS and there is one that gives you a new harvesting skill, one that give teaches you something new about armor. There is one that makes you learn the history of the cities. Another that has you getting materials so that a NPC can perform a ritual to calm the angry Kamis (and yes, the little cute black owl type kami sings and skips over to tell you the Kamis are pleased). There is a mission that involves smuggling arms from one ourpost tribe to another.

The one where you have to prove your knowledge of harvesting... you have to bring back 4 groups of 5 of a certain material, you have 1 day to do so.

Rewards... I really don't think you are going to find money or xp as rewards for these quests. If you want that you can do jobs. Two of the rewards that I have noticed so far are the harvesting skill mentioned above and a mace for another.

One last word of advice to all of you... GET OUT AND EXPLORE!!!! You are going to have to know where tribes outposts are, where NPC's are, where mats are found. You are going to have to have certain fame levels with groups to get missions.

Brillian suggestion Raynes! And stacking DP really IS one of my favorite things to do on the game, I'm not joking. New skills and patterns are by and far more valuable then any amount of dapper or xp!

The nice thing is that it isn't my suggestion... it's what they ARE doing. From what I have seen on the test server if you want money, xp, or even fame you do the types of tasks that are currently in the live game. The indepth and more complex missions are going to have real rewards.
