i hope this is the right section for this post
hello i'm sorta new the game, i have gained vl20 in fighting and am now in the main land. i am finding it hard to team up with players, and leveling in the mainland is a bit harder then in the training ground. i would like to ask for your help. i have a fewn questions if someone could answer them please.
1) is there a way of know if a monster is much to string for me. because it seems i can kill one type of monster easy but there there must be different level to the monsters. is it the name of the moneter that tells it's level.
2) i can craft boot, i would like to be able to craft weapons. i know you have to gain points to be able to upgrade to the ability to craft other items. should i just keep making boots over and over till i gain crafting points? i bought my boots and cannot make better boot then i bought, because i cant kill things that give me high enought boot making items.
3) i's still a little shacky on the whole system of the game. when picking my char. i selected fighter twice, and crafter once. this gives me med fighter pack and small crafting pack. so my goal in the game will be to use weapons and some crafting. but i have the option to get the starter magic stanza thing. should i get it and use some magic? or am i wasting my time at i should be using weapons.
4) is there another way to heal yourself? stanza heal locks for over 2 min. and i find leveling slow because of it.
thanx guys, other then that i'm having fun playing.

Questions with Answers:

the stars denote its power, at level 20 dont' take on more than 1 star mobs until you can test your strenghs, herbivores that are soft shelled creatures (furry) you can use blunt weapons on, herbivores with hard shells you can use swords or sharp weapons, the shell of the creature determines which weapon is best, kipee for instance is hard shelled, bodoc are soft shelled (skin), same with carnivores, there are both hard and soft shelled, choose thine enemy well based on what you own.
2) i can craft boot, i would like to be able to craft weapons. i know you have to gain points to be able to upgrade to the ability to craft other items. should i just keep making boots over and over till i gain crafting points? i bought my boots and cannot make better boot then i bought, because i cant kill things that give me high enought boot making items.
this is what we all went through, craft boots till you get 3 levels in crafting which case you will have 30 points to spend, then get chest pattern, rince and repeat until you have a full suite, also get healing or stamina or whatever on crafting
3) i's still a little shacky on the whole system of the game. when picking my char. i selected fighter twice, and crafter once. this gives me med fighter pack and small crafting pack. so my goal in the game will be to use weapons and some crafting. but i have the option to get the starter magic stanza thing. should i get it and use some magic? or am i wasting my time at i should be using weapons.
actually you should get all of the categories, magic, harvest, craft, fight, and for magic i suggest if you are warrior type only, atleast train up to get heal other ability
4) is there another way to heal yourself? stanza heal locks for over 2 min. and i find leveling slow because of it.
this again, is by design, you can only heal yourself with that block, and you can increase its level, for each level you increase it you get 100 more hp back to yourself when you use it, its not ment to be used as a chain heal self, its ment to be a save your butt heal

The Names do give some indication of level also - suckling, weaning, timorous, roaming, scampering, s-something-ing for herbavore, I think
Carnevores are about 1 1/2 times as tough as herbavores of the same star level they start vigorous, growling, scowling, baying, dunno cuz that's all i can handle ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

this is what we all went through, craft boots till you get 3 levels in crafting which case you will have 30 points to spend, then get {WEAPON CRAFTING}, since you want to craft weapons and not armor

If you train metabolism, you can sit and heal faster
Welcome to Atys!
Edited to add clarification to Zumwalt's fine post!

thanx you've been a big help. one last thing. i noticed that i only see other members of my race. are there land with other races in them? will i (in time) team up with other races?
after reading a review i have another set of questions (i know i'm full of them)
1) How much faster is my health regeneration for each point I put into it?
2) How much more accurate does this other skill make my weapon?
3) Can i see mode details one my char somewhere? i would like to know my defence and atack amount. or a break down of what abilities my aromor gives. noticed that some armor gives dodge bonus or slash. should we not have a running total of this somwhere to see. i mean how much dodge does my char have and what does that mean. will i dodge all monster evenly or does the level of the monster suggest that i will dodge it less?

First off - hiyas and welcome to the wonderful world of Ryzom!
1) here's a place to check names and lvls of mobs:
http://www.ballisticmystix.com/mobClassList.jsp. I'm wondering if lvl 20 in fight is light blue. I'm at work and can't check my little one to make sure.
2) yes to crafting boots to get SP for other crafting skills. Once you have the dagger plan, you'll have to buy the crafting tool. Probably most of your mats will be in the mobs you hunt with the only hold back being the mat for the grip since herbervores (sp) don't drop a lot of skins. You can buy mats from the vendors for any shorts in that area.
3) magic... heh. *nervous grin* It doesn't lvl as fast as fighting. My main character is over fight 50 for one and two hand melee and I have a hard time lving in magic unless I'm in a group. Still I don't think it's a total waste. Maybe save it for when you have ten or so more lvls in fight and more HPs? Get heal for others for when you do group up. Which kinda answers question 4) the best way to get heals is to be grouped with someone who wants to pursue magic.
Where are you and what's your toon's name? Maybe I've got a little one who could help you.

Yes, there are 4 races, Matis, Zorat, Fyros and Tryker, and in time when you are powerful enough you can join karavans that travel to distant lands, where you can go and get 'spawn points' and 'travel tickets' so that you can visit them often and when ever you choose.
1) How much faster is my health regeneration for each point I put into it?
hmm good question, my experience is that you want to get it, my regen is about 5 points a tick sitting down, and with over 1200 hp, that is good, but its both in the number of points and speed, the higher your matibilism gets the faster your rate of regen goes, i don't have a figure for you, only that you want it, you also want strength, because that denotes what you can wear and wield equipment wise
2) How much more accurate does this other skill make my weapon?
this depends on which skills you get, you want to get accurate attack, which increases your chance to hit the creature, you want increased damage which increases the amount of damage you deal, then you can look at the other options and decide on how to grow your characters strengths and weaknessses, each to there own
3) Can i see mode details one my char somewhere? i would like to know my defence and atack amount. or a break down of what abilities my aromor gives. noticed that some armor gives dodge bonus or slash. should we not have a running total of this somwhere to see. i mean how much dodge does my char have and what does that mean. will i dodge all monster evenly or does the level of the monster suggest that i will dodge it less?
you can right click on any item and get its details (INFO), this will show you specific information about an item you own or want to purchase from the open market
Edit to last question:
there is no running total, each creature has its own strengths and weakness's and each piece of equipment can do so much to help, also where they hit you, what you are wearing, and your skill level vs there skill level make a difference, the forumla is so huge i wouldn't try to tell you an answer to that one

Thank you Zumwalt, Uncus, and Danadita you are very helpfull.
Danadita, I play the USA server and my char name is cheex. if tyou play that server i would love to team with you, as that server seemingly has few players.
If i have anymore question i will be sure to post them. And on a personal note (for the record) i find this game better in some ways to the top MMORPG games like World of Warcraft, Everquest II. Hope it wont let me down at higher levels =)

... uh oh ...
let's hope you would at least take a few months to get to those high levels
Oh yeah, hit 'P' to pull up your personal stats. It'll tell you exactly how much hp you have, how fast it regens, along with saps, stamina, and focus, and your strength, constituion, intelligent, wisdom, and balance. A *very* useful screen.
'A' would pull up your skill sets. Play around with it. I am sure you'll have TONS more questions after that. Haha.
