New whine

OK with that out of the way... a word of explanation.

I started Ryzom a few weeks ago hmm... maybe 3 weeks before patch 1. I read up on the patch... was nervous about the harvesting changes and since I had made it to Fryos was determined to do as much harvesting at Thesos as I could - I am Matis.

Anyway, I read that I would be returned to my home city upon logging in after the patch.

Ok... I am a bit literal and naive in my approach to things... so I logged out before the patch in Thesos imagining myself waking up in Yrk.

I was somewhat surprised then to wake up in Pyr.

Now... this would not have been much of a problem as I did have a teleport ticket back to Yrk.

However, when I woke up I was in a herd of pack animals and my three were there! They had mysteriously been teleported to a foreign capitol. Whoa! This was not in the patch notes!

So... I lined them up wondering what to do. I sent in a ticket and a kind guide said... no problem. I could just stable them in Pyr and access them from anywhere in Atys.

However, this means that if I wanted to remove them from the stable ... to take them to the merchant for example to grind mats... I would have to be in Pyr. So... I sent in a ticket asking if I could teleport with them back to Matis or if the GM would do that for me as it seemed to me that the notes were not complete in letting me know about the situation.

The GM was nice about not being able to do that.

Well... that was not what I got out of the conversation. I got the impression that the GM had the power to teleport them back to Matis but that he was not allowed to by the rules.

However, he would send the petition on to the developers. I have petitioned three times now but still have received no word and so I have been dealing with the situation.

Now.. I read in the patch notes that we will no longer be able to access a packer from a remote location. I do not know if this means we will be going back to the situation as it was before patch 1 in only being able to access your packer from the same region but it sounds like it.

In my opinion, I should have my packers returned to Matis even if I can access them while they are in the stables in Pyr.

There is no frigging way I can trek them back... nor should I have to.

Or am I just being a baby about this?

Respectfully,

Atanna

i have to say i agree with you since patch 1 have you noticed you cant remove packers from stables anyway? lol only time i ever get an option is when i go to the stables in pyr and it gives me the option to move my packers to the guild hall what good that would be i dont know im not going to pay for the carpets if theres an accident

packers are so weak now with the mobs upgraded dmg and not sure but think they are still something you cant heal instead of packers why not just give us a warehouse? its more practical less likely to die to a yubo and wont ruin your upholstrys

You're being a baby :)

Seriously though, the being able to access from anywhere seems to have been compensation for the packers dying all the effing time.

What they really need to do is make them tougher or tweak the AI so the people are always attacked first.

I'd LOVE to see trade caravans making their way between the lands.

Teleporting Mektoub was a bit much.

No... I see people remove packers from the stables in Yrk all the time. hmm... never really wanted one in the guild hall... aye. I do not think my harvest pick would be very efficient in cleaning up after them... and I do not think we have learned how to make a shovel yet.

<--- points to sig.

I am a US player who plays on Euro cause of friends. Thanks for the permission to whine!

(And yes... I do agree that we yanks have more of a natural inclination to do so... though I happen to think that I am not yer typical ugly American.)

*chuckles softly*

0.0 all 3 of my packers are in thesos but when i stand at the stables there and right click my mektoubs in my inventory i get no options :( same if i right click the stable boy just says trade and all the other options

seems silly that str doesnt make you have higher bag weights too as i thought a big tough guy can carry alot more than a skinny guy with low strength o.0 or is that just real life? lol

Oh... you need to do CNTRL-P. That will bring up the packer menu that allows you to remove them from the stable. Hmm... this information is probably not in the manual.

OK, actually british people whine more than than americans (I should know, I'm english) - although americans usually whine using their lawyer and a lawsuit :P (Again, we brits are apparently catching up in that regard...)

Anyhow, back to your point! I have to say this isn't whining, and I think people should look at the whole deal here. Firstly, you didn't take all the packers with you in the first place. Secondly, the patch notes mentioned an auto-return to your home city - this didn't happen.

Obviously (before you all start ranting :-) ), the developers did not intend for this to happen. Well, that doesn't matter - at a time when players are coming *and* going from this game, they should be aiming to please as many players as possible (no I don't mean free ports for everyone :P ). This is a blatant cock-up, whichever way you look at it, and to expect a player to suffer this kind of problem because of Developer/Patching errors, isn't very good democracy is it?

Come on devs, quit with the black-and-white 'no teleporter' rubbish and send Atanna back where you *said* she would be :-) Some people asking for teleports have genuine reasons eh?
