Looking for Aimed Attack Info

Greetings all!
I am looking for any specific data that people might have compiled on aimed attacks. Basically I am looking for the Ryzom equivalent of the old AC Monster program that was made for Asheron's Call. Something with a monster name and which body part is best to attack with which type of weapon. I have heard from a number of people that if you use the Aim Head ability it increases your chance of stunning a mob. Is that really the case? Is that really the case for all monsters? Is that only the case for smashing weapons? For instance, smashing may work best on a Kipee if you target the head but slash or pierce might work best on the abdomen or legs. Really looking to see if anybody has compiled some data on all of this.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Ah the aimed attack, probably the most specialized field of attacks in a ryzom meleer's arsenal.
wait...no... oh those. Err well these dont work yet
well they have no effect anyway.

They don't work?
Is there an official Nevrax/Ryzom post stating that at this point aimed attacks make no difference or have you bought the skills and collected actual data?
I am debating rolling up yet another character simply to try this out. Quadroped data would obviously be the easiest to collect since with one skill you can collect data for multiple creatures. The simplest method would be to grab a basic weapon of each type from the vendor and begin whacking away then look at the damage vs. absorbtion numbers and calcuate %'s. That wouldn't help with protection number but one thing at a time....
If there is an official post stating that this isn't doing anything yet then I won't waste my time. If you could post a link to such a post or provide some data, I am sure we would all appreciate it!
Thanks,

different bodyparts can cause different things to happen, such as stun for headshots... unfortunately since you need to get a crit for that to happen... and because the aim at x on y stanzas don't change the frequency of crits... it makes no difference
Save your points. Many mobs such as cutes and gibbai are classified improperly, other mobs such as flying critters and plants don't have aim at x stanzas anyways.

hmm, they might be interesting for those that fight with higher speeds, i've been using double daggers upto now and i usually crit 2 or 3 times per fight against a 1k XP enemy

I noticed that by coupling an Aimed Attack with an Accurate Attack I seemed to hit more often that with an Accurate Attack alone. (I incorporated the Accuracy Stanza into the Aimed Attack.) Also it seems to me that Crits seem to happen a lot more on Accurate attack, no data to support that though. I am thinking that there might be 2 thresholds as you are attacking. The first threshold determines if you hit or not and the second, higher one, determines if you crit or not. By adding an accurate attack you move yourself higher up the distribution and thereby have a greater chance of performing a crit.
Another thing I just thought of... I think it tells you where you hit the creature in normal attack mode. That data could be analyzed to see if one body part is more vulnerable to attack than another. You could then use the aimed to attack that body part from then on.
I think I will hop in the game and see if I can collect any data.
Back in a bit....

Ok... I just did a brief study on Capryinis. I looked at both Suckling and Weanling and came to the same results. Caprynis have damage absorbtion versus Smashing damage but none versus Slashing or Piercing. I also confirmed that at least of Caprynis the damage absorbtion is uniform across their bodies. Based on my limited sample it also appears that the crits are random across the body and not more likely on one body part over another.
One thing I still need to collect more data on is the type of crit vs. the body part that was hit. There seems to be several types of crits you can land, stam drain, slow, stun... you might be able to increase your odds towards one of these by focusing on a body part but at this point I don't have the data to support that at this time.
I appreciate the bits of knowledge people have contibuted and I will continue to study this phenomena and post the results.

Here is an additional piece of data that I have collected that seems a bit odd to me. The absorbtion number does not appear to be linear. Here is the data I have collected: A max damage hit by Hand to Hand against a Capryini yielded a 15(16) damage. Absorbtion of 1. Using a One Handed Mace a max damage hit was 32(36). Absorbtion of 4. That strikes me as just a bit odd. If the absorbtion was a straight number (like the number that appears under the prot % on player armor) then the absorbtion should have been the same number, either 1 or 4. If the absorbtion is a % then it should be linear. In other words the absorbtion of the mace should have been 2 or at the most 3pts. I couldn't find a 2 handed mace to continue up the damage chain but I found this interesting. Makes me wonder if the difference is due to the fact that they are different attack forms or whether there is actually an increasing % of absorbtion for higher damage weapons.
Anyway, thought I would share that tidbit with the collective for you to enjoy.
Be Safe!
