Ryzom

I just bought the game last night after reading a couple of articles on it. I do like the play mechanics, all of the options for specialization given to everyone to do with as they see fit, and the large areas to explore... but where's the music?

I get ingame sounds just fine as well as environmental ambient noise as i would expect, but no music. Now i have only been to the fyros starting area, their main city, and just outside of the main city but i would've expected to hear something by now. If this isn't an issue with my system than theres a problem.

I know comparasins can be an annoyance but i'm gonna do it anyways. Lineage2 was a great game idea, but with all the pvp garbage and dwarf theves running about it quickly became a bore, but the music was great. The battle sounds as well. I do like the battle sounds in SoR as well as everything esle, with the exception of the strafing animation, but without music it almost seems pointless to play the game.

I know not everyone feels the same way but I'm somewhat of an audiophile that loves games as well. An MMO without music, especially heavily fantasy based, doesn't seem complete.

The Ryzom website offers the new Ryzom theme for download. That one will, if I understand correctly, make it into the game soon (not sure when exactly it will be played) but additional musics will have to wait a while.

I miss them too. Ambient sounds are good but I wouldn't mind at least having the choice of switching on the music.

Yeah I always turn off music anyway. That's cool theme music though.

Yea i dont mind there not being music at the moment i usualy have my own tunes playing in the background anyways. Though from what i have listend to of the "to come" music for ryzom it will b very good.

That's the trick. Having the choice to turn on or off in-game music (especially when it sounds good) is better than being stuck with no music, as far as I'm concerned.

I can live without it. But since the first sample sounds good, I'm interested in hearing more.

I'm finding myself getting bored with nothing to hum along to.
