Ryzom is a beautiful adventure and now, I can say that, it has a substantial community. And the guy who made this post is the one who wants his 50$ back

you say its still beta,.... not so, and far from it
as its only still in its infancy its small atm, but thats a good thing, as it gets going more and more will be added, i mean patch one added loads of things; and i bet patch 2 will bring even more new things to try out.
as with all mmorpgs, good things come to those who wait, i.e. good things come in small packages *cough*
as time goes on, this will be one of the best mmorpgs on the net, providing people give it a chance

Yeah, I'm afraid I have to disagree with this thread's starter as well.
I've been playing for about 4 nights now on the North American server late at night, like 10 PM eastern to 5 am eastern. So that is supposed to be when no one is online, that's the context.
Truth is during that time period I find that I can always find or start great conversations in the Regional Tab of chat. We've talked about game things and non-game things. The people are very helpful and I never found that within 5 mins we had a group of at least 5 constant chatters plus another 5 or so sporadically adding even more specific expert advice. On two of the nights I thought there weren't many people in the game. But on the other nights there were five times as many people on. It also became clear that most of the newbies were not in the starting newbie city visual range, which is where I tend to start out.
Beyond that I found that many of the more knowledgeable players in this regional chat had already characters that lived in the mainland, where they explained most of the players were.
As to the so-called bugs. I play on a below minimum spec machine. I play with 384 MB of RAM on Win98SE , Pentium III 1.4 GHz and with 16.8K dialup. It runs, it runs fine enough for me in the newbie area. I'm not recommending this set-up and I will get my connection fixed. But the engine at least is fine. And on low graphics across the board on my GForce 4 Ti4200 it looks great, period. I have visual range up to 100 meters so that enemies are just a few pixels tall, in packs. I can tell what anything is easily even when it is only 8 pixels high.
The only sort of bugs possible that I can see right now are things like ... does the ingredient used in crafting give the correct bonus to speed, or sell at the right price. Does the root spell last the intended 30 secs or just 20. Is the resist rate correct or not? In other words, the typical game balance or typo in the database crapola that every single damn MMORPG has had from day one to eternity, in greater or lesser degrees.
Now given that ... that is not a heck of a lot to get upset about.
What you are seeing, my dear readers, is that a lot of people got ticked off up the Wazoo by either so-called "Patch 1" or are unhappy while waiting for WoW box to arrive. It truly is a simple as that.
I can tell you that I came in after the mini-patches to "Patch 1". Nevrax put out a series of patches with upgrades after they caught some errors in Patch 1. Now it may have changed the relative balance of magic, melee, ranged weaps and how easy it is to make all monsters extinct, but it isn't what one can call buggy, not now , not in any sense of the word.
Look, they have had successful 100 plus people raids, and many of those who play on the Mainland simply are saying that leveling is a bit more difficult now, you need to make money more , etc.
Whoopdeedoodah. Anyway, that's enough of my commentary on this.

Twenty bucks? I wasn't aware it was twenty bucks. Heck, if it is, I'd recommend buying it for the free month of play, then cancel your account if you don't like it. Find out for yourself, rather than listening to someone who obviously hates the game.
