This is a very good comparison, thank you :) I was thinking about doing one of these but i'm just way too lazy :) This should be made sticky and called 'The first stop in your decision making when considering buying Ryzom'.

While u can say there’s missions, yeah missions are there but they are just like a job and only good for the extra dappers. Hopefully this should be added in the second patch Open Conflict, until then there is only levels to be gained for the sake of gaining levels. While that can be fun for long periods of time, it just lacks something and that something is the story line we were promised upon release Nevrax.
I think the story is going to be different than just getting some static quests in patch 2. There are going to be individual and unique events that propel the story. One such event took place this weekend, culminating Saturday night in mass group hunts staged in both Zorai and Tryker. There were free teleports provided from Matis to Tryker, and I would imagine Fyros to Zorai as well, so everyone that wanted to come was able to participate. The way I see it, events like these will be the building blocks of an ongoing story.

If you ever played AC2 or SWG, they seemed to have something similar with monthly events, but I think that Ryzom's events aren't going to be predictably scheduled like that. They will happen when they happen, just like events in life do, not on a pre-set timetable.

Of course, all this is just my speculation. ;)

Nice comparison. One thing though.

Wow is not available in Europe for at least another 4 months. Ryzom is.

That is my pet peev at the moment. :)
