17 November 2004 - patch 24
WHAT'S NEW
[ I n t e r f a c e ]
. When a crafter crafts an item, his name is now listed in the description of the item.
. The seller's name is now listed in the description of the item to sell.
[ G a m e p l a y c h a n g e s, r e a d j u s t m e n t & i m p r o v m e n t ]
. Mobs' spell resistance check for direct damage spells has been reviewed.
BUG FIX
[ M i s c e l l a n e o u s ]
. Mobs are now behaving in a more natural way near zone borders.
. Fixed a problem with fame rewarding tasks when the reward was more than 32000 or less than -32000
. Fixed a bug when removing an item from an empty stack.
. Credits are now available in French and German.
. Welcome message and MOTD are back.
I'd hate to be the first one to be a troll
... but the biggest issues seemed to be the fame bugs (which I don't know enough about to know if the fix listed above changes any of that), and how much damage carnivores do to a player.
When the changes were previously announced for this patch, I had read that the damage carnivores do is under review, along with the spell resistance issues. Are we to assume that damage rates are no longer going to be 'reviewed'?
Not that it matters a whole lot to me. I simply started over to re-learn the difficulty levels. Just wondering what happened to, uhhhh, sticking to what was said?

I wouldn't read too much into things. They updated carnivore damage and magic resistance -- it doesn't need to be complicated :)

Oh, by any means, if I'm jumping the gun, then strike me down

This is fine and dandy for those who do not mind.. or even want to be in the spotlight.
But I so hope that I (and any others who wish it) will be allowed to retain our annonimity in crafting. I LIKE that I can hand my crafted items to someone else to sell, or whatever, and my identity is NOT attached to said items. I'm rather reclusive in my gaming, and having my name plastered on everything I make is extremely counter productive to my particular style. Not to mention that this brings in the availability for personal attacks when various crafters get into pricing wars.
Just how much thought was given to those aspects of this portion of the patch, before implimentation?
Granted, at the time of my posting this, I have downloaded the patch, but the shard is *still* unavailable.. so I may be worried over nothing as I have not seen this in action.. but it still does not sit well with me.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, I hope this is a selectable option. I will remove all my "fore sale" items if this label is not removeable to prevent all the requests for items. We have players now that are constantly combarded with requests in game by word of mouth alone.
There are items I put up for sale so they are available but I only make items in guild by request.

I see nothing about an updat to carnivore damage.
I agree, I will not sell any crafted items if my name is on them.

Sadly, I think a number of people had requested this on the wishlist thread. Go blame them

They also requested an MP3 player which I have never opened, nevermind used but at least it's invisible to me. Things should not be forced on players like this that can result in a slew of /tell messages. For every hairbrained idea in the wishlist thread do the rest of us have to have a counterpoint ? There has to be some sense about these things.
These are many townhugger crafters that don't mind the publicity, others don't want all the messages asking for stuff. Making it even worse is the lag bug with /tell windows now. Of course this all makes me wonder...
How long is the content we crave held back while MP3 players and player names etc. etc. are added ?

This would be why I don't add things to the wishlist
Let the dev's make the content, not add features!
