Ok perhaps i have left the noob zone a little early but I was just getting tired of the same thing over and over again. Is there anything to do in this game besides build up your character. are there missions or quests with story? how do i access the story of the game? I am rappidly losing interest in this game. I went to the mainland and typed /who. 5 names came up :| FIVE PEOPLE. this game is dead! what am i missing in this game?

Nope only thing to do atm is level your character.

No good quest/missions.

No real story.

It might be dead if your a zorai.

Atm out of my 12 guild mates not 1 has come on in the last week or so. Some do but they pop in and out.

As of right now, there's very little storyline. Patch 2 is when they'll introduce quests and lore and such. You can read Cerest's sneak peek here:

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6105

There was a meeting held this past weekend regarding kitin invasions and what we can do as a community to fend them off. One thing that came out of it was that we should have regular caravans that travel from land to land allowing people to get spawn points and teleporter tickets to the other lands so they can help when an invasion occurs. I'd suggest keeping your eyes open for one of these. I've really enjoyed the times I've been in a caravan from land to land.

As for the invasions themselves, I've not seen one firsthand but from what I hear, it sounds like a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll see more soon.

Unfortunately, Patch 1 was very devastating to the community and we're still recovering from that. However, I think we're recovering fairly well. It seems like there's a fairly healthy wave of new players coming to the mainland. Five sounds like a very low number of players to see in the main region of any land (which I imagine is where you were). Even right after patch 1, I would usually see 30 or so. I'd say you either hit a really slow time of day or perhaps it was during the big meeting in Pyr and most people were attending that.

I do believe they have a good thing going with this game and I'm pretty excited for patch 2. It seems like the general consensus is that the game was pushed out the door a bit too soon (what else is new!) but if you're willing to stick with it for a month or so, I think we'll see the payoff.

I wonder if I could cancel my account now and come back and use the rest of my free 14 days when the game is actually good.

nah, cancelling accounts only cancels the next subscription, not the currently active one, try making a matis char, i hear they're pretty popular on the NA server

nah I think I am just going to cancel. Why start another caracter when all there is to do is improve your charcater? I can do that for free with many of the single player rpg games I have. and they were complete when they were released!

Are you sure you're a new player? That sounded suspiciously like a dig from a disgruntled former player... :D

I would think that continuing to build up your character would give you the opportunity to do a broader range of quests/missions when they do become active.
