Well there we have it, the access violation message of death. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it so much that it may force me to leave ryzom. Some of you may remember that I supposedly fixed this problem, well everything was going swimmingly until I decide to take the last train to the mainland. First of all I cannot run the game at all in the city so I had to logg and take the res down. So i logg back in to find its even worse, i changed it back and worse still. Ryzom is now forcing me to run it in a 800*600 window for me to be able to move around the game at all. Im running a 1280*1024 res so it so small that i cant read anything. For 3 hours im getting the most violations ive ever had in my life. As soon as I logg on i get one. I cant stand it, i love this game so much but im afraid i will have to abandon it.

PLEASE,PLEASE NEVRAX READ THIS AND TAKE NOTE FOR EVERYONE WHO IS SUFFERING THIS CRUEL FATE.

I know no-one apart from players never read this but please take this into consideration, im sure you dont want to lose me as a customer :)

Please contact our Customer Support, either in-game or via email about this problem. It could be related to corrupted game files, problematic hardware or game settings. Our CS may have to exchange some files with you (Your DxDiag logfile, as well as the Ryzom configuration files) in order to identify the problem, which we can't do through this forum. ;)

Acces violation may be just due to a simple setting:

If you use an ATI videocard, go to (windows) start>programs>ryzom>configurator>display>select Direct3D

If you use and Nvidia Videocard, do the same except set it to OpenGL

ATI cards are doing bad on the OpenGL protocoll and do very welll on the Direct3D protocoll, while Nvidia is working great with OpenGL.

IF id change my settings to Direct3D (i have Nvdida) i would get an acces violation too. at least a some point.

yep its a strange one. the crashes stopped for me after the post patch 1 patch, but then came back strong.. Silly me I went out and got a brand spanking new 9800XT card, made sod all difference. It's not so bad in Zorai I crash a few times a week, but in tryker its a few times a day.

Not good at all. I put in a ticket and spoke to gm who suggested i force open gl and disable agp vertices. This solves the problem for sure but gives me a frame rate of about 7fps outside, and .7 in cities so it's not a solution guys!

I have the same card (Radeon 9800xt) and have it running stable after a lot of experimentation.

Direct3d, Fullscreen, 1280x1024 32bit
Display details: All on High except the FX, which is all the way down.
Display Advanced: Disable Texture Compression. All others left unchecked.

Sound (seems unrelated, but made a diff for me)
Set to 24 tracks

Edit: getting an average 28 fps in town. (Using Fraps) http://www.fraps.com

k when the crash happend i sent the email thing does that actually work? also i think maybe i do have corrupt files as when i log each time it checks the files and relaunches because of a corrupt file( this link is a post someone else has made about the constant relaunch problem http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8233 ) i did a scan with norton and i have no viruses so im lost as to what it is thats corrupt
