Try installing latest video drivers, defrag ur hard drive, disable sounds, disable vertex shaders. If it doesn't help then most probably you are playing on Trycker which has beautiful water and probably something else that causes some systems to crash. I had to reroll on Matis because of that

I had exactly the same problem, crash crash crash after patch. Treied all usual suggestions, in fact re-installed every latest known driver to man, no effect. Decided to have a look at system bios for the hell of it and disabled Hyperthreading and set memory speed from auto to dedictaed ddr3200. Now after 2 days of play including a pvp event in Zora - no crashes!! Was it something I did or has something changed in the game. I have absolutely no idea, but hey it may be worth you trying.
Good luck, tho I fear the next patch

I'd first wonder "what has changed since yesterday which makes me crash all of a sudden ?" ; new software, new hardware, brand new XXX dialer, shinning new spyware, swap HDD space too small ... ?

Are you using 444MHz (or whatever it is, I'm not so good with memory) ddr ram? Warloc has that and had to get rid of it because Ryzom doesn't support it. Its too new

Well could'nt answer the memory question speed, can't remember what it is! As for the question "ask what has changed, spyware and the like", why is it always put back to the user?!!? I can state categorically 100% nothing changed here. I was playing b4 the downtime for patch 1 and all was lovely. After the patch, I couldn't even log in! why, because my firewall was on. WTF my firewall is/was always on so what did GMs do that now stops game working??.....no idea cos no one will talk about it. Once I turned off firewall and logged in, crash crash crash every 10-15 mins, why?? who knows...no one will talk about it except for defrag YOUR drive, update YOUR drivers etc etc etc. Well that was all done and still the problem.
Luckily for me I seem to have found an answer, but if every time GMs apply a patch I have to frig and reconfigure my system then Ryzom will certainly have a very short life expectancy.

Thats very true, it seems the game isn't being tested on enough different gfx cards at the mo. As talktalk pointed out their are solutions, maybe a sticky is in order for the little fixes. It took me a lot of reading before i found out turning off agp verticies in the config solved my crashing probs.
