If you have not given EQ2 a chance yet...

Do yourself a favor and give it a shot.. I played Ryzom for 2 weeks and after the 3+ patches in 3 days, total lack of content and boring hunting/crafting I gave EQ2 a shot and wow!

There are over 15 actual quests that you can do just on the starter island.. One quest database lists 429 total quests in EQ2!

Right off the bat you are able to do some very entertaining quests solo or with friends!

The mobs are so much better to look at!

Crafting is actually fun AND profitable!

Combat is a blast!

So many races and classes/subclasses to choose from!

Large and supportive community!

I can go on and on!

I post this so that you do not make the same mistake my wife and I did by forking over $106 for a game that is disappointing!!

Haha you didn't test it out single player with one box for an hour each at least before opening the other one so you could return it? have fun on EQ2. Nothing against it or the intelligent players it does have. I only hold grudges against stupid people.

I have it. I also have (two beta accounts for) WoW, and every other (real) MMO that has EVER been put in a box and sold to US citizens commericially.

EQII is actually not half bad, which provides an interesting dilemma. Play a game that is actually unique and not the same old non-creative fantasy or some pop culture derivative - or play said pop culture derivative of the same thing I played in every other genre of video game that holds a "fantasy" sub genre.

While EQ II is NOT a bad game, it's absolutely the exact same as everything else. I mean, after playing such an open ended game like Ryzom, how in the heck can I enjoy the restrictions of a class based game?

Now, I would gladly play EQII over any other game on the market, save for Anarchy Online and Ryzom... I would ALSO gladly play it more than I would any MMO that is set to be released within the next six months!

Let's bring the point back here.. You like EQ2 more than Ryzom. Good for you.

Doesn't mean everybody else should because you are the second coming of the supreme almighty and we will all perish and go to hell if we disobey.

Get over yourself.

Let's compare...

EverQuest 2 - has lots and lots of static quests... Hence the name Ever QUEST

Saga of Ryzom - will have an evolving storyline, or, a saga... Hence the name SAGA of Ryzom.

I'm a member of french community.

Well, i just wondered what is the sense of spamming every community with the same cut an pasted text ? Even the aniro Event Board ! (and that is NOT the place for this type of posts !)

Publicity ? Are you a member of EQ2's marketing team ? I'm glad you don't know my mail address, you would have spammed it too.

Cordially

Meh, thread reported for advertising. This has nothing to do with SoR, and is a blatant advertisement. Anyone else feel free to report it as well.
