OKay.. coming from the roots entrance in Bounty Beach, where is the exit to the safer areas? I've made it as far as halfway across the beach, but without any idea wher eto go, I'm basically stuck until something kills me. If anyone can give some advice, I'd be really thankfull.

On the other route, I can reliably (that means 2 out of 3) make it out of the Trench of trials and into the gate of obscurity, however, about halfway across that, the patrols get to the point where it's very complicated.

Also found a neat named plant! Jukoo.

And some really good harvesting spots, so it hasn't been completely worthless (Fossils and kitin spittle, yay!).

In the NE section, that little nook on the southern part of the east wall is where the portal is, kinda looks like this:

Where the 'U' is, thats the portal. (Ignore the '.' had to use them as fillers.

On the map - look for the outpost named 'Cute Springs Twinning'.

draw a line directly east of these words on the map.

on the edge of bounty beaches there is a small pointed outcrop. The portal out in in this 'cave'.

If looking from the lake land side .... its very near the roots that are joined to the wall.

Ugh, all the 'safe' paths I've found so far head to the south, but at least I know where to go now!
