Parry materials?

I make shields, and I'm going on the idea that if you use one, you'll want to parry instead of dodge. Now I looked at DoubleTap's WONDERFUL website (excellent job collecting that information, by the way!) and checked out all the different possible woods to use for the armor shell and saps to use for the armor clip. There's plendy of materials that offer high dodge statistics, but I didn't see anything that offered high parry statistics. Are there such materials? Is there something I can quarter that would work well? Any ideas?

Parry is a weapon associated skill, so your weapon mats have those particular abilities not the shield. If your a 1h weapon/shield guy you may be better served changing your skill to dodge and using dodge materials in your weapons as well.

I actually have pretty high dodge mid armor with a high vest/helmet. Going to move to all heavy ASAP though. I parry lots! I also craft shields. It's nice to see a fellow crafter
Even with the dodge mode selected I think I parry more. Dodge is prolly for light armor guys.
I use axes and shields...not enough axe crafters around. It really sucks since they do good damage to the kitin. I use a mace for the furry creatures though. Maces don't seem to do as much damage even with same Q and stats though.

WOW! That's a cool link too. Helpful information from two sites... you folks should write a book.
Thank you very much! This'll certainly keep me busy for a while.

The best parry mods are always on quartered materials from flying mobs. In Zorai there's a named Kizoar (Tang-Ka) that gives out some very tasty ql 100'ish materials with nice parry bonuses. I'm not sure about named mobs in other lands, try finding some kind of flying beast you can rip the wings off and examine for parry mods.

I find in Fyros that in general the Kitin type mobs tend to have the best parry mods. Try going for the "named" kitins for the "good" mats with great parry mods...

Generaly speaking, mobs drop parry, dodge comes from the ground.
In the Fyros lands, the Gorketh drops very nice Q80 (?) Supreme mats with max parry mods (both parry and adv parry) The clopperth drops Q90 Supremes with nearly the same stats. (of course at supreme level, the lowest stats are at 75%, which is almost as good as the best stat on a Choice mat.

I got a new Q80 Excellent Parry mod helmet and noticed my parry going up. So I doubt it's something that is only affected by weapons. I just need MORE parry eq! I love it.
