odd, gmail doesn't seem to like it for some reason. This message was sent out differently than previous ones however.

Older newsletters seemed to have the text followed by html stuff. I have had no problems with viewing html messages through gmail previously, it seems to be something specific with this message. I've reported it to google but don't know what the actual cause of it not showing is.

Someone internally noted the problem as well, but he wasn't using gmail to my knowledge. I'll be sure to let Nevrax know it's not playing nicely with plain text email clients.

Had the same issue here, entire message got snipped and that usually isn't a problem for me. Can anyone repost what the contents were supposed to be?

Ryzom in the News
Ryzom has received critial aclaim for its immersive environments, deep customization, and original storyline.

"It's one of the more enticing persistent-world games to come out in some time, and it shouldn't be overlooked by anyone craving a MMORPG to sink their teeth into." 4 out of 5 stars.

"The market is drowning in fantasy worlds covered in Halfling Rogues and Dwarf Paladins. Ryzom's original blend of fantasy and sci-fi make for one of the most immersive and unique worlds we have ever had to pleasure to get lost in." 4 out of 5 stars.

"With its clean graphics, interesting game world, and innovative skill system Ryzom is definitely going to be one of the more interesting games in the new crop of online games that are hitting the market...I can tell you that Ryzom is definitely worth a good look if you are hunting for the next big game." 8.1 out of a possible 10.

"The technology that Nevrax has incorporated into this game, including a diverse living ecosystem and a storyline which will be different in every server, no doubt adds an intriguing and exciting experience for fans of the RPG genre. If you are one of those fans then The Saga of Ryzom is definitely a game worth checking out!" Score of 81%.
Our Players' Thoughts

We already know that Ryzom is a game ahead of its time with its stunning graphics, original character creation and skill system, and dynamic customer service support. But don't take our word for it, just read what some of our players had to say about Ryzom.

"I just want to take a little time to express my thanks to the entire Nevrax development team. They have created one hell of a great game and one I thoroughly enjoy. In fact, I enjoy SoR so much, that I am 95% convinced to completely un-sub the other 2 MMOs I play, including deleting the characters...Nevrax has got a true winner in Saga of Ryzom...
THANK YOU NEVRAX!!"
-Deadwolf

"With rock-solid mechanics, a lush, living and breathing environment, and a skill system that gives the player the most freedom of any MMO to date, The Saga of Ryzom is hard to put down. To me, this game is THE MMO to play and I wouldn't trade it for anything."
-Stellus

"It has what many would consider to be one of the most complex skill systems ever... The graphics are truely amazing. I shudder to think of the amount of time that went in to create the scenery. The trees actually move with the wind, talk about an immersive in game enviroment...Let's talk about the GM's. Fast... Quick... Responsive... Courteous... Sense of Humor...Never have I seen such rapid response, not to mention a personal response. I'm used to the "canned" messages from other games."
-Dazoo

"A wickedly imaginative world...streamlined and intuitive combat..Finally, a great community for once in a MMORPG! I think the EULA must prvent smacktards and mobots from joining."
-Smirch

"The thing that I find so refreshing about Ryzom is it's originality in appearance and feel. It's not the same old, same ole."
- Spazzlad

The Kitin & Frahar Attack!
While Matis lands celebrated the first wedding of the homins returning from the refugee lands, not all was sunshine and Yubos. A more insidious power seems to be at work and strange things are afoot beneath the placid green surface and beautiful blue sky of Atys.

The Kitins Attack
Kitin hordes have swarmed over the Matis lands. The previously dormant and quasi-legendary kitins streamed out of the Roots, sacking Davae, Avalae, and Natae, and even hitting the city of Yrkanis. Bold Matis warriors defended their homelands with zeal, crushed thousands of vile kitin under their boots.

A Grateful Land
The Leviers and other tribesmen are extremely grateful to the homins of Fyros. A raid by frahars on the Fyros lands captured numerous Levier nobles and vicious hordes of the ape-like creatures, working in concert with the dreaded gingos, rampaged across Fyros lands.

The Fyros answered the Leviers Nobles request for assistance in a way that did credit to their ancestors. Branching out across their lands, groups fought their way through the creatures to liberate prisoners at five camps. The nobles revealed that these raids were not uncoordinated attacks. No, they had a leader. By Grabthar's hammer, the Leviers would be avenged!

The leader of the raids was cornered in a canyon and summarily slaughtered by the mighty Fyros. The representative held captive there thanked the brave Fyros for their service. Indeed, all of Fyros is grateful for the return of the Leviers nobles and for the fortitude displayed by her young homins. The Fyros are grateful to their allies in Zorai for the assistance rendered on their behalf.

What Does the Future Hold?
Men in black armor stalk the shadows and no homin can say what their intentions are. The gibbai have begun to act strangely and some whisper that they've gone mad altogether. These are dark and dangerous times and the kitins remain an everpresent threat, watching from the Prime Roots, waiting.
Major Content Update, Chapter 1 "Changing Times" ...
Discover the exciting changes in Chapter 1 "Changing Times", aka "Patch1", released on November 3rd, 2004.

Unsettling Events
Following the Frahar raid on Pyr and the Dunes of Exile, rumors have been spreading across the surface of the newfound lands. The Kamis are murmuring about conspiracies, the Karavan, mysterious as ever, are showing signs of restlessness and over night the fauna have taken a turn for the worse. It is as if a god had stretched out a hand and meddled with the genetic makeup of the roaming creatures of the world. Some even say that the strange over-sized creatures have metamorphosed and organized themselves to defy hominkind. These are troubling times...

New Merchant Trading System
Merchants have developed a new pool system for handling their wares. Stock bought in from the crafters, quarterers and foragers of the world, is added to a common inventory shared across an entire continent. The merchants now tend to offer a selection of items from the common inventory in addition to their usual supply.

Mounted Mektoubs?
There have been sightings of homins mounted on mektoubs! Word has got out that certain elite homins have come upon texts explaining how to tame newfound land mektoubs for riding. However, the mounting technique still remains a closely guarded secret only known to a lucky few. Though some say it is just a question of time before the information gets out and soon every homin throughout the land will have a mektoub mount!

Is it Something in the Goo?
Animals are reported as being more aggressive and tougher than before! Officials put it down to an increase in goo concentration in the atmosphere which influences the creatures' genetic make-up. Consequently all animals inflict significantly more damage than before. What's more, deranged giant animals that haunt the darker corners of the world have undergone blood-chilling metamorphoses and appear to be gathering new minions around them. These awesome creatures may have looked pretty wicked before, but now they'd freak the bravest warrior out of his boots!

Where'd You Get Those Fancy Gloves?
With the ever-increasing concern about a possible link between Magic and the Goo, magicians agree to the replacement of the baton for newly developed and more practical magic amplifiers which are less harmful to the environment. These ecological amplifiers take the form of gauntlet gloves for better adhesion and enable the magician to better concentrate magic energy in the palms of the hand without the risk of scorching the skin.

Sources Galore!
There is a great abundance of forage sources springing up around the towns and villages of the newfound lands. The town is all abuzz with the guild of Arium Keepers' research into the ways of the land and the forage masters' work to develop new stanzas.

A New Start
With all of the changes in the world and the developments in the stanza sets a visit to the trainers and townsfolk will be required before stepping back out into the increasingly hostile world.

For a more detailed list of these changes taking place please visit the Ryzom homepage.
