Closed UDP ports

I get the internet through a very high speed LAN, but have to put up with a firewall I have absolutely no control over.
I can connect to some MMOGs and play them through the firewall, like Anarchy Online for example, but can't seem to connect to Ryzom.
I asked my internet provider about this, and the support said all UDP ports are closed, so I can only play games that use TCP ports for their connections.
I have very little experience with proxys or routers, but does anybody know a way to get around this? When I asked the LAN support, the people there didn't know exactly how, but thought it might be possible.
Can I get around the UDP problem with a router?
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Tried protocol tuneling in tcp? you'd still need a third party gateway to have access to ryzom though. People looked at Anarchy Online with a bit of a worry when they announced they would use TCP, and much of the first 2-3 weeks of the game existence's problem were associated to the TCP by people on the forums, even though the big problems were elsewhere.
The big problem is the differences between UDP and TCP: one works like a highway with tons of cars carrying bits of information, able to take over the slower ones etc... while tcp is more like a big train with ordered packets, if the first packet is not processed, the others are delayed. UDP is typically faster but more prone to errors = tuneling one in the other = the worse of both worlds.
Get a new provider... it's insane to have UDP blocked.

I might be wrong but "high speed LAN" + "firewall I dont have control over" + "my isp is lame" sounds very much like WORK environment to me, and I wouldnt take bets regarding wether he'll be able to change ISPs here or not :p

if it was a university, he'd have control over the firewall...
control being a few drinks to the admins every weekend to ensure good relations

I'm in the exact same situation as the thread starter, and at a university.
If there is any way around this problem, an answer would be greatly appreciated
