Today in resting waters, a bunch of us around level 80 to 100 were fighting stuff that was giving our full team 1k xp. I could not land a freaking spell on anything to save my life.

Stun: No.
Fear: No.
Blind: No.
Madness: No.
Nukes: No.

Nothing, not a god damn thing. I eventually gave up in frustration because the only way for me to gain any XP at all is by healing people and guess what.... I DO NOT WANT TO BE A HEALER.

All the melee fighters in my team were getting xp, the guy who was healing was getting xp... I was lucky to get XP 1 out of every 3 fights if I didn't heal.

I know there are the kissasses out there who are going to come up with a myriad amount of excuses about what I should be doing here and how I'm retarded because the game is just fine... sure whatever.

Just explain to me one thing: If everyone else in my team is getting XP, we are obviously fighting a monster we can beat. How come if we can beat the monster using level 40-100 melee and level 50 heals I cannot contribute at all with my level 80 offensive magic powers? Not even a tiny bit.

Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to see three monsters die in a row and to get >0< experience for it?

that was hapening to me too. I dont know why I go from one extreme to the other. One day i am getting used to the new patch the next it is eating my lunch. I can solo things and get about 1400 xp and that is taking a lot of damage and making sure i am full hp with my self heal it is a slow process but it works. Next thing i know i get stuned and i dont have a chance. i have solo'd alot of my lvls and i still can if i am carefull but once agro spawns i am dead . Most of the time i can gain xp instead of loosing it but last night i actualy got angry i grabed the short end of the stick every time good thing i had the sense to quit before i got over 100k dp but i was actualy angry enough to throw my wireless keyboard(one of the down sides to having one) but i play on and tonight i wll work off my 75k dp which will be much easier than woking off the 361k dp i got right after patch one

You are correct. Thats not right one spell out of all you had should have been effective. But you did get some exp so one or some of them was working. Maby the mob was too high or your spells were too low.


Try rounding out your char with other skills its not just a fight or nothing game.

I WANT TO BE A MAGIC USER.

If I cannot gain magic experience in anything but healing.... then the game is not working for me.

It was working for everyone else in my party. They all got experience points for every kill. I did not. My skills were even HIGHER THAN THEIR SKILLS!!!!

Is this sinking in yet? For the love of god some of you people out there are so dense in your RAH RAH WE LOVE NEVRAX little world that you can't even see when a player has a legitimate gripe?

The developers at Nevrax are big boys, I'm sure they don't need you defending them and irritating your fellow players with your useless commentary.

jjim you asked for an explaination you never said it had to be a good one. Sorry your so unhappy and realy I also feel you pain. I just try to look on the up side of things. I am serious when I say this I hope they fix the game so you can have fun with it again.

what level were you, what level was the mob(you can make a very good estimate with the colours and stars) and what level were the spells used(they only work upto a specific moblvl per spell lvl now)

Cripes, Let me explain something here:

Ok? I know what level monsters are. I know what level my spells are. I know how they are supposed to work.

They do not work.

Get it?

I was in a full team, everyone else was getting XP. I was not. There is a problem there. When people are in a team they should all get a chance to get XP. I wasn't getting that chance.

What am I supposed to do, really? All my guild members (several of them LOWER level than me) are teamed up and getting XP... however I cannot contribute at all unless I heal.

Someone please try to explain to me how that is right, fair or even remotely fun.

My mage is useless now except as a healer. That's just a fact.

well, i's a fact too that spells who are below the lvl of the mob have an exactly zero chance of working, like melee skills that only work upto certain qualities
and seeing how i was in a group yesterday that very successfully, blinded, stunned, crazed, and as needed feared our mobs i can only assume that your spells were perhaps near, but still below the mob lvl
