So much for all that work I did on Fame

Before the recent series of patches I was enjoying a very nice discount from the Matis raw material vendors due to my Matis fame. I could buy q50 raws a about 100 dapper below the normal selling price. Now that amps finally give exp I went to buy some leveling mats only to notice that either a) fame no longer gives you discounts at merchants, or b) raw materials were jacked up again in price (I don't feel it was b since the price was the same price it was before I had raised my Matis fame). This really hampers crafters when they are trying to grind up since even a small discount becomes large when you are talking 1000's of mats being bought to grind on. If this a problem because the same vender that sells raws sells player raws then make a seperate vendor becuase this change is really screwing crafters.

Another thing pointed out to me was that the payout for crafting missions was nerfed by a factor of ten, what may have payed you 22,000 dapper pre-patch only payed you 2,200 dapper post patch. Come on devs, were crafters making money off crafting missions really a problem? They needed that money to finance their operations and removing that ability seriously hampers them yet again.

The last thing is the local supplier issue. I do know why this was changed and I do hope you can fix that problem so we can once again enjoy the benefits that go along with having high fame with a tribes.

I'm having the same problem. I use to have a routine. I did crafting missions first, with mats from combat missions the previous day. Almost all money I made went toward helping with getting a guild hall. Then I grabbed all my combat missions, Kami missions, and delivery missions, and headed out on my journey across the land.

After patch 1, without knowing of the change in prices of crafting missions, and fame no longer effecting NPC prices I went to do my skills. I had certain things I crafted because of these missions, at certain levels. So, I bought all those skills again and raised them to the appropriate levels. Then I go to get my missions and low and behold the mission reward is less than it costs to buy the few mats I was missing to do them. Complete waste of skill points I could have used elsewhere. Needless to say I did them anyway. Determined to make the best of this. I went from having 200k to having 4k, and not much more than that after turning the items back in. I didn't know fame no longer effected NPC prices when I started. After realizing this, the next day I got my crafting missions and decided to harvest for whatever I was missing.. fiber, resin.. whatever else I was short on after all my combat missions the day before. I came to find out, that was NOT fun.. It literally took me all day to harvest the few things I needed. Even with the new harvesting skills.. (which I love, by the way)

I will find a way to work around this, and find another way to make money to put toward the guild hall, but now I see no point at all in doing crafting missions, and it will now take me months to raise my crafting to anything worth while if I can't afford to buy the mats I need to grind it.. Collecting them manually is very time consuming, and gets old quick. I can't even craft at a level that will benefit my combat level. I will have to get armour from other players, because my melee will now advance faster than my crafting.

Fame itself is now useless.. I worked Kami fame. When I got to a certain point I lost all my Karavan spawn points, and was only allowed to respawn in FairHaven at the Kami welcomer. Not a problem.. I should lose those spawns, since I despise Karavan. However, I'm forced to give Karavan my hard earned money, because if I want to go anywhere else without having to swim for 30 minutes, I must teleport. I can't even take a death taxi to the other cities. I've visited 2 other Kami near other cities.. No respawn points for me. Now, I'm not sure how this works, but shouldn't a follower of the Kami receive some type of reward for their efforts? Kami fame is the hardest faction I have seen to raise, so far. Yet, instead of being rewarded for my efforts and loyalty, I was punished? Even if you don't want to put respawn points at the Kami in Dew Drops and at the Corsair camp, there should atleast be an altar to buy a ticket, so I can give the Kami my money, rather than the Karavan.

Seriously, though.. without lowering NPC prices now.. what point is there in factioning? We get no acknowledgement at all now of all our hard work.

Fame is completely worthless now. There are no fame related quests (where you need a specific level of fame) and there is no discount at stores any more and you get no more extra money for selling something. That entire part of the game is completely gone.

Crafting quests have been shot in the head. You can no spend more dappers on crafting an item than you get as a reward. I had a quest that used to take me about 2 hours to complete and when I was done it would pay me 444k dappers. That may seem like alot, but not when you realize that I could easily make that much money just killing stuff in the same period of time. Oh and it didn't involve me running all over the place gathering materials (because you couldn't buy ql70 mats in the stores at the time...) and risking life and limb by aggro monster spawns (I'm a tryker so getting anything above ql50 for me is like playing russian roulette).

Suppliers are worthless now. They used to pay a premium for certain items if you would bother to run your arse out there and sell to them. Now they buy nothing at all, even though their message still says they buy things...

This patch... such a huge collassal blunder. I cannot even comprehend why they pushed this live.

there are now different vendors for lvl 1-50 and 51-100, you only need to find the other one =)

I was under the impression that fame would have impact on events far more important than general pricing? I mean I didn't get fame just to get cheaper low level materials for crafting xp... but I would like to know if/why fame is said to no longer have any benefit for errr... well anything at all really.

Can someone tell me why we should currently bother getting fame. I mean at this present time. Not because it will have some impact on the storyline someday.... What are the benefits of acquiring fame NOW?

None.

None of the fame related parts of the game are currently implemented. They probably wont be for many months.
