rollback?

Post by overide1 »

its seems like with every patch the hole is being dug a little deeper. i know they are trying to compensate but at this point it seems best to just rollback patch 1 and do more testing on ATS.

i personally don't plan on quitting but i think people would feel better about waiting on the patch for a while longer than dealing with patches for the patch on the main servers.

it would calm things down alot around here and relieve the pressure on the devs to keep patching the patch. that way they can take the time to really iron out the wrinkles so to speak.

i realize alot of the premature releases can be due to pressure on the devs by investors and whoever else. the devs need to slap those people and scream "PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!"...... anyway.....

a rollback should at least be being considered. i really don't want to see this game die.

Agreed. Anyone with half a brain would have rollbacked this patch either partially or fully within the first 48 hours. The fact that they have proceeded along and left the insane combat system in place only goes to prove that they are suffering from a severe case of "We are right, you are wrong".

Perhaps when thier revenue streams shrink even further they will get the point. Sometimes it takes a lot of pounding on developers until they realize that people don't want to pay for what they think is right. Eventually it comes down to money, and in this case I don't see Ryzom earning any if they continue being such obstinate pig heads.

You will not see a rollback. We all would like it rolled back, but that just simply will not happen....why?

Because then players would also recieve an email apology for the condition of the game post patch and would be welcomed back to a restored and stable combat system while retaining the best of Patch1 changes...

...and one by one they would poke their avatar heads back into Atys and begin to again sing the praises of the Zorai, the Tryker, the Matis and the Fyros. They would /shout THANK YOU, NEVRAX and post with unrelenting enthusiasm in the forums burying the negative (and honest) assessments of the debaucle farther down the history bar.

Then, you have to wake up and sense the reality here.

Yes, NEVRAX made a fatal error.
No, they will not concede to a waning customer base who may never return anyway.
Yes, you will get more balance and tweaking.
No, you will not see a rollback....because NEVRAX has a different agenda.

Considering the changes to MOBs and armour in the post Patch 2 patches, I think a respec would be a very reasonable request !

It involves grapefruit, a Michelin tire, a bicycle pump and a beagle named "Skipper." I can say no more.

Of course I am not a DEV nor do I know their agenda. An agenda is an action plan to achieve certain goals and in the case with SoR, the rebalancing was a wide swing on the other side of center showing that the original intentions were not what was occuring on the servers, hence a correction. My inference to an "agenda" was soley based on the apparent need to radically harden the game for "Their Reasons - Their Agenda".

actually the rollback is a perfect solution remember all the guys who said it's fine now? they are non whiners and gets angry if people whines. and they are less than the whiners. in few words they won't leave the game even if gets rollbacked also, being non whiners they will shutup.
