Well I might as well join the list of players with more crashes after patch1. I've found a few oddities with my client.log output

2004/11/05 07:22:44 DBG 4294609259 CLIENT_RYZOM_RD.EXE main_loop.cpp 1150 : Le nom du player est :

if I
1) run the config program and reset to default
2) reconfig the resolution and apply
3) select all the advanced vid settings, apply
4) deselect all the advanced vid settings, apply
5) OK

now 9 times out of 10 the game runs.

Now for the problem If I make any changes in program like enabeling hardware mouse the the config setting get messed when I leave the client causing the game to crash when the client is run the next time.

Can I ask for

1) the "Hardware mouse" option to be part of the config application
2) the exceptions generated within the config area are looked at to catch any data exceptions gracefully and not quit the program (yes I am a c++ programmer)

What's "Hardware mouse" option good for?

On some systems the ingame mouse pointer is sluggish. The hardware mouse option fixes this at the cost of reverting to the windows pointer instead of the nice graphic one
