Ryzom

I bought this game on the recommendation of Borg9 who did FB.
Up until today I have been enjoying it, waiting for the content promised in patch 2 was a bit frustrating but nothing terrible.

This is a game that I play for fun (like any other), except tonight has left me peed off, wound up and generally annoyed.
Nevrax you've turned the game on its head, mobs that give me no xp can kill me and those I need to get xp now wipe the floor with me.

Harvesting takes all my 1200 fp to get 7 mats, thats if it doesnt kill me. Im an advanced forest forager and for getting 7 q100 mats gets me 900xp (uses all my focus).
Youve messed up the focus systems, level 3 care is 32fp, the nearest bricks now are 24fp and 64fp that means having to use a 64fp brick !

Crafting appears no different apart from some of the guild were reporting not having any types of failure.

The only ones that seem to be having fun are the mages, some of which took great delight in poking at the misery of the foragers and fighters.

Im just checking that this game did go Gold right, because to be honest to those of us that didnt do your beta it certainly feels like we are since we bought this game. Youve had months to get this game right, such radical patches like this one should not be coming out now and causing such game disruption. Im not even mentioning all the bugs.

Anyway I wont let the door hit my butt on the way out.

BTW, I hate patch 1 too.

You're not alone.

But I'll wait the end of my trial period before leaving.

If the Devs will do something I'll stay, if not ... well ... november 17h is not so far ...

No its just we have a few here that would defend Ryzom to death even if Nevrax buffed the mobs so much that a suckling yubo could take down a team of Impalers.

True but they are few, most seem to be people who will whine as soon as they can't gain 200 levels a day and be the highest level character of all. And all patches should be absolutely perfect to everyone!

Melee is a bit too weak now, magic is perfect. Mobs are slightly too tough. Balancing of mmorpgs will go on forever, mistakes will be made and corrected.

reply: I am a low level mage (level 26 defensive; level 30 offensive - i got lvl 15 in fight also, because i wanted a bit more hp (max hp = 300 atm). Being a mage is hard also in this patch. I keep on dying all the time and i also can not solo a thing" (except those yubos offcourse ). I tried some travelling but those carnivors kill me in 1 hit (mages actually have lower hp then fighters and also do not have the ability to wear medium/heavy armor - if i compare a pure mage and a pure fighter at the same level), so i don t see why mages are having fun in this patch.

The healing xp i get in groups is also not to write home about; i played 3 hours this day with healing only and have not got 1 level in my defensive magic. I played also 4 hours this day with offensive magic (killing yubos only) and got 2 levels. I got a free week atm, but i doubt i will continue this game when i can only log on casually, because advancing is getting really slow.

This patch is also bad for mages (correct me if i am wrong, if the case is different at higher levels), and at the moment i only see big disadvantages. I am asking the developers to reroll the patch in the way that the mob-hits and statistics are the the same as before this patch.

PS: this patch is -in my opinion- a killer for everyone (fighters, crafters, mages, allrounders).

In my opinion there wasnt much wrong with it before the patch, I would have liked to have seen the bugs addressed and the content in patch 2 concentrated on rather than what we got with patch 1.

The fact is there will always be those ppl who are on 24hrs a day and will hit top rank in a matter of weeks, to penalise those of us that play max 2 hours a day is not acceptable. Those ppl I saw not suffering so much from this patch are in fact those ppl who have already made it to the higher levels.

Een as an advanced forager you have all the tools to keep the source life/explo rates at bay, you are just playing it wrong.

Harvesting is easier than ever - IF you do it right. It just requires more stanza investment and to pay attention rather than going afk for a min after hitting source mode 1, pre patch 1.

I have, Im not, it is, its boring, its seems to require no real skill, its locked into making a few xp and taking years to get higher.
Anyway moot point, ive cancelled like a hell of a lot of ppl it seems.

The steam is out of my system and I dont like leaving on a bad note.
Its certainly been fun up until patch one playing with you guys, I found the customer service to be the best Ive ever seen in an MMOG and overall my fellow gamers to be very friendly and helpful. My account runs out end of this month.
