And for my next trick ...

To say that I have some concerns following patch 1 would be an understatement -- particularly in the area of game enjoyment. There are many posts that suggest others have concerns too. However, I must remind myself ...

1. Ryzom has a great game concept. You can actually picture the story slowly unfolding and develop a character to fit into the story. This game has huge potential, plus flexibility. Designed in from the start.
2. Customer service is lightning fast. This is SO refreshing, that I still find it hard to believe sometimes.
3. Devs actually communicate with us! A big wow and a big thank you to Cerest for being so proactive.
4. I repeat -- Devs actually communicate with us! Another big wow and thank you to Cerest.

The announced revisions to patch 1 should help a lot. So, for my next trick, I am counting to 10 and continuing to play.

I would just like to point out something:

Cerest is a customer service rep, not a developer. The customer service reps are outsourced by Nevrax to be the omsbudsmans between us and them. The developers themselves (Nevrax) never (atleast in recent history) ever post to these forums or tell us straight from them what they are doing and why they are doing it.

Infact, I would wager they don't ever tell even their own hired help what they are doing given how many people were screaming their heads off in /region chat and from my own personal conversations with GM's in game.

I don't envy their position, infact if I didn't need the job I would probably quit. I can't imagine there is any amount of money that a CSR can earn that would justify having to take abuse from hundreds of pissed off people because their bosses won't even do simple things like actually seek and interpret customer feedback before they push a product patch live.
