Problems with the first story:
I've read over the first story several times and there are some problems that need to be addressed in future story updates (at least in my opinion).
1) The story is not at all written in a way that all of the games population can easily follow.
There were just too many places, things, and people that the much of the game population have no clue about. It wouldn't be so bad, except that there is no real explaination of what things are. It would really help if you included links to information on the various items. Much like yahoo does with their news. This would also help new players and people a year from now when they read it.
2) The stories focus is on an event that happened in one races land.
I put these together becuase the go hand in hand. I play a Zorai character, as such I have no idea concerning the places and landmarks in other races lands. So when I read about things like Pry and Cerakos Gate they really mean little to me. Furthermore I am left to ask how does an event in the Fryos home land really effect the Zorai. (And yes I saw the US tie in, but that still doesn't make it feel like it effects the Zorai that much).
3) The story focusus too much on one event.
The first thing that I asked after reading it was if the event was real or not. That shouldn't happen with major story items. If something was really that important why wouldn't all of Atys know? You could say that you just have to pay attention, well I do and I still didn't remeber that event happening. I remeber there was Kitin invasion in another land, but not this. Maybe there has to be some otherway of letting players know things happen. No matter what a story update should be referring to events that are pretty common knowledge. This just wasn't that.
4) For the sake of all the is holy in the name of Jena, put a higher resolution pic as a link to the pic in the story.
I run my desktop at 1600X1200 on a 19 inch monitor. I can't make out much of anything that is in those pictures. I understand the need to keep them small in the story, but there is no reason why you can't have a "click to enlarge" link.
Well that's about it for my thoughts for now.
