It's a Kitin plot

The Kitin have devoloped a new mind control power and have captured the devs. Forcing them to code the new damage being done to us by their allies,for the purpose of nipping homins in the bud. You have to admit patch 1 is a huge success.... from a kitin viewpoint. I mean if all the homins are within 5 meters of a given city this will make swarms much easier.

Especially if they're already weakened by harvesting explosions and death points! I think you may be onto something here!
