The two routes to patching

Patching normal client:
60 files to download, approx 150 Mb
Converting test client to live one, then patching it:
15 files to download, approx 100 Mb
The test client has a lot of the content already, hence needs fewer files. However, the test client is version 21, slightly ahead of the version 17 on live servers. Hence some files have to be reverted back (patched down). Patching down involves redownloading the whole file, hence some of the files to download are pretty big.
With a fast Internet connection, the slow part seems to be the patching of the files and not the download, hence the test-client-converted-to-live will finish patching much quicker.
