Thanks to all who read my thread about the changes made in Chapter 1 on the ATS server. Though it degenerated into immaturity in the last few pages, for the most part, the first 18!?!! pages of discussion were very productive. I've never seen a thread generate so many hits on these forums.

The original thread can be read here:

For those who truly believed that Nevrax has a winner with Ryzom and would respond to a large dedicated group of players being unhappy (and rightly so), this one is for you!

05:15:46 <tleilaxu> The nerfs aren't just going to affect the hardcore gamers
05:15:58 <plangent> Let them know that another patch will be coming to test shortly after
05:16:02 <grandma> yea, but we won't feel it so bad...we aren't just levelers
05:16:12 <plangent> It will fix some of the harvesting problems.
05:16:20 <tleilaxu> We're not just harvesters either

Klient Chat wrote:05:36:06 <tleilaxu> are there notes about the small patch to ATS somewhere?
05:36:38 <plangent> i'm working on it
05:37:07 <tleilaxu> awesome can't wait to see them

Hopefully this will do the trick and we dirtdiggers can go back to doing what we do best. I'll try to get my hands on those patch notes as soon as I can. In the meanwhile enjoy the good stuff on Patch 1 at least.
-Magic Gloves
-long overdue Magic system revamp
-Autostack problem seems to be fixed
-NPC vendors selling Playercrafted items
-Music
-Mp3 player
-New spell effects & sound effects

Also there is an old feature that I'm not sure many know about, there is an in-game email feature that you can use to communicate with players who are not currently online.

See you in game!

Thanks for the follow up and getting the news to us. It will be interesting to see what this small patch has to bring to the players worried about Harvesting.

As for me, it doesn't bother me all that much and I'm extremely happy with everything else in the patch. I like to play games for fun and patch 1 certainly looks like it is going to be making the game more fun.

Does the Harvest nerf bother me? A little, but the good that is coming out of Chapter 1 is going to outweigh the bad, by a long shot.

P.S. Do you like stars? Because you get 5 of them :D

Hopefully they fixed the Magic Gloves / Close Combat crafting prior to going live. On the ATS when crafting the magic gloves you get no XP (in anything). Similiar to the situation that any weapon crafter past 101 2h craft saw previously with Amps.

If they realize the forage changes are so bad that they are having an immediate follow-up patch on the test server then, why are they patching them???

I'm glad to hear this, because I'll stick it out. But a lot of people will not.

Oh, and I really don't care for the oversized boxing gloves on my caster. I really liked my magic stick. When will they stop fiddling with magic like this? At least give us the option of choosing which one we want.

I hope Nevrax can look across the forum boards and realize that they lost a lot of good will and credit with some of their most die-hard fans over this patch 1.

Now that's a comment I've got to agree with. The gloves are so utterly awful looking that it keeps giving me thoughts of giving up magic altogether. >.<

Thanks for keeping a nose in for all of us Cier, I hope to hear about this mysterious new fix-patch. I'm pretty discouraged atm, but .. we'll see!

Besides I like the idea of being a careplanner, I hate digging in the dirt alone as you know (boy do I talk a lot or what when I forage? I'm sorry for you guys on Teamspeak but .. too bad!)

I too love the idea of foraging teams and always am foraging in a team with my guildmates when possible. Care plans, prospecting for each other, healing, keeping an eye out for patrols in the roots. Its a lot more fun for me in a group.

But forced teaming? Blech.

FORAGING PATCH NOTES CHANGES POSTED BY CEREST!!!!!

Looks like all of our major concerns were addressed. Thank you Cerest, GM team & Nevrax Devs.

I for one have complete faith in you now and hope to see these changes go live soon. Looking forward to testing them on ATS.

Amitst,

You have repeatedly pushed the envelope. This is NOT acceptable. You have blatantly broken a forum rule by insulting a GM.

You have said that you're leaving the game. That's fine, then be on your way and leave like an adult.
