I'm liking SoR

At first, I was really wondering where the fun was. But as I play a bit more, try out all the races, work on "getting it" as far as how the game works, etc, things are looking good! I have some questions so any help is appreciated.
I'm bringing up a Matis character. Started him out with three packs in Craft, because it just seemed the best way to start yourself out with good cash and the ability to make yourself weaps right off the bat. I've been working on fight and craft, and have bought my magic pack.
1. I'm a bit confused on what to put skill points into. There are so many things!! What's with the special attacks like attack humanoid arm, etc. What's a good strategy for using those type of skills.
2. I'm having trouble with making skills. My issue is in credit. I make a skill, but don't have enough credit choices to pay for anything.
3. I'm looking forward to the crafting aspect, but can you be an effective fighter and still keep craft up to speed? I assume that if you want to craft your own armor it will be tough. Weapons seem possible because there are less things to put skill points into. Am I right or totally wrong on that.
4. Are you limited in skill points by the level you are in an area? Does gaining skill points change at some point? In other words, are there a finite amount of skill points you can get.
Thanks, and I hope to actually group with someone soon!! I'm currently 15 in fight and 13 in craft. I'm going to grind out some magic points soon, but not sure if I can afford to worry about Harvest right now.
