Strafing when Melee'ing

Anyone tried this? Since players have to be "Facing" the mob to Melee, I would assume the engine sets simular rules for the mobs. I have tried it myself, constantly circle strafing to try keep at the back of my foe, and it seems to work (I get hit less) but I'm not sure how I can prove it conclusively.

Does that really affect at all? As long as a mob dont target u its the same I thought..

At the moment it would be difficult to take much advantage of this even if it does work. Even harder to prove.
The syncronisation is out a lot of the time, making it very hard to act/react to what is happening on the screen hence you could sidestep look to be flanking the target but the game thinks otherwise (Happened to me a lot).
Ehen this resolves itself we may know for certain.

Think it works in pvp, if your opponent isnt really paying attention it can be lethal

Strafing has no effect on combat whatsoever, except making it look interesting
If u can somehow prove that it does however, would be great.

Wrong !
I know for a fact Straffing while only wearing your Skiddies (underpants) makes the mob his a lot less.. maybe it's the pants that puts the mob off.. how can it fight while laughing so much ?

i am not sure, I had the feeling, that it would work, but against this, there is one fact, a mob can even hit you from a far distace (before warping in front of the player) or even through walls and hills, so why should strafing can avoid you from taking damage? I really hope, that it will work soon, maybe it is able, but does not work as intended? who knows, hope you got my idea, because english is not my first language..

when I seem to move around during a fight I seem to dodge far more than when I stand still, however, I can hit less too

Absolutely no effect to anything whatsoever, that's my judgment.
I mean, come on. The combat isn't real time, there's turns and all. It's not like you could dodge blows by strafing them on demand, and since the combat system is turn based there's the dodge system to accompany that already. I'm finding this speculation just silly.
Thoroughly tested and only paranoia can make you believe that it makes you hit more accurately and dodge incoming blows. And achim here has a very valid point about it already.
