If its setup for wide-screen then there will be problems with playing Ryzom... try setting it to a lower res.

I have given up on fullscreen mode myself - I just use windowed mode and drag the screen to almost the full size of my 1280x1024 res

I had this.

I fixed it by going into the game configuration and changing from Auto/OpenGL to DirectX. The screen sizing worked fine after that.

I have found that if you maximise the window when the nevrax logo appears it'll go to fullscreen automatically when the game loads up fully. If you have the fullscreen thing ticked in game from a previous go. One click when the game's opening isn't so bad.

I've encountered this problem, when you're in XP using new styles of windows (like round windows and such) you get this bug. Try reverting back to old style windows (like windows 2000 or earlier) and it should be fixed.
