Well I would like to say devs I think you have been doing a great job. Been here a month or so and loving every minute of it.
Haven't felt this good about a mmo since I played one about 4 years ago AO. I was just leaving a few old mmo's graphics were pretty ****ty and one wasn't even a mmo. But had the multiplayer aspect. But I fell in love with AO was with them for 2 years but eventually things get boring.
Well Since then I have been hopping around MMO's. FFXI SWG Shadowbane Neocron Lineage2 Endless Ages Daoc. Just staying with them for 1 to 3 months never being satisfied enough.
Never being satisfied like a man sleeping with alot of women too see which one will truely make him happy in the most ways not just sexually. My first woman who gave me good couchie was AO. But she was my first true mmo so like a guy who has never had sex I was in love. Now I find myself feeling the same way about Saga of Ryzom.
To all those ppl saying there gonna quit stop looking at the bad things start looking at whats great about it and concentrate on those. Maybe ryzom isn't your type of girl so move on. But don't say bad things about her cause its a great game even with it faults. To me ryzom has more positives then Negatives.
Now unless WoW is the end all MMO's then I won't switch. But I will have to wait and see till WoW OB. Other then that I am not waiting for any other mmo's.
But Dev's and Gm's I think you both have been doing a great job and keep up the good work.

I know what you mean. My first Mog was "The Realm" a very 2d graphical mud is the best way to put it. It is and was a VERY small community. I fell in love with the cooperation in that game. I joined a guild and when they betaed EQ and later MOVED to EQ, still retaining the characters in the realm, but not ever really playing any more...I moved with them about six months later.
I was disappointed with EQ from the very first moments. The selfish immaturity of many in that community was like a grease burn, it hurt for a LONG time. But the way the verant and later SONY treated its player base was the straw and the camel's back. I could not take the repeated developer versus player attitude, or more accurately put, Developer versus the Ubber Guilds. After Kunark, the game was written for the top ten percent, or even a smaller group. And after about level 50, it got exponentially harder to get gear, find a group, and still hold fast to your ethics.
I hung my hopes on Horizons, and dumped EQ like a bad habit when my husband and I were accepted into Horizon's CLOSED beta, more than 18 months ago. I was excited about what could be, hubby had watched the concept art and developers news for more than two years. It had potential to be THE best game ever. But the game/idea was sold, and resold. By the time it got from dream to reality...it was no even a shadow of the dream. Again the developers REFUSED or simply were NOT able to fix the errors in their coding that ignored video cards, and FLOODED your system with extraneous info causing even experiementally fast systems to lag out with frame rates as low as THREE FPS in town and only 15 in REMOTE regions with NO other players. I stuck it out for nine months, but I had to leave. My character was NOTHING but a cat form over glorified road and bridge construction worker, and that was NOT where I wanted to be. I got a KNOT in my stomach everytime I logged on, that just is not good.
I jumped around a few beta tests and one or two I went live with. More of the same, different skin, same basic troubles. Errors or design flaws IGNORED by the developers. So I was never really happy in those games, and left.
I found this game, in open beta, about the last three weeks of it I think, maybe sooner. And I thought..what the heck...nothing better to do. And I joined.
As soon as I stepped into game I was stunned. Sure the graphics are WOW, but the concept is fresh. A game world that grows, a LIVING planet...now that is new. The skill trees were open to ALL races, none limited to ONE or two classes. And so far NONE advantaged in one skill over another due to race. NEW concept.
I reported a few bugs, GM responce time was better than 911 service in my area, and the GM staff is respectful and actually gives a darn. This is a new idea...I like it!
I posted bug reports via email etc, and noted them being taken care of in a timely manner. Hmm the devs care?? Now THAT is a new concept! WOW! I like this!
The developers/programmers actually CARE what we...the players feel. Let that soak in, roll it around in your head. THINK about what the other games programmers have treated you like.
I know this game is NOT bug free, it is not perfect. And we American gamers tend to pull the best from all games we have played, through it into a blender and hit HIGH and pour out OUR own personal "perfect MMORPG" and see it as BRAND new, straight out of the box...and of course...perfect in everyway. And we tend to forget...that that is an idea, a fantasy, not possible in the real world.
This game has me. The GM's and the devs will KEEP me. If ANYTHING will make or break a game it is how it reacts to its playerbase, in both customer service and developers. I truly think that this game learned that one, and is listening.
Chin up, things ARE getting better, and will continue to.

Ihaha I don't remember how long I lasted... I know it was right up until the days after we freed the Dryads. There was too much politics and crybaby whining going on from the Dragon population (worse than from the Trykers!) and made a HUGE deal about our efforts to free the dryads.
I actually held half of the important pieces on the Shadow server, and our first (failed attempt) was one we agreed on based on my research. It just quit being fun a few days after when all the snot nosed brats wanted their ALT CHARACTERS to fly before Dryads were freed.
Been MMO free after that, until Ryzom.
