I thought I'd post that here so noone else falls into the same hole.

Anyone grinding Zorai pike crafting to get that nifty "Electric Spear" at level 150?
You know, the one where you see the stanza greyed out under Upgrades, that says "Requirement: Two-handed weapon crafting lvl 150" ?

Well - don't.

I spent the last four weeks to grind out 2h weapon crafting - then pike crafting to lvl 150 to get this hopefully nifty looking weapon. Well, turns out it is not a 2-handed electric spear, no, it is a 1-HANDED electric lance. One that requires 2-handed crafting and gives 2-handed crafting xp.

Looks like a 1-hander, feels like a 1-hander, animates like a 1-hander - obviously a bug, and when they fix it it probably will be a 1-hander which is what I suspect it was intended to be in the first place.

My problem with this is - I am screwed now. I spent all my time leveling up this skill tree to get to the point where I am able to make this weapon and I won't be able to anymore once the bug is fixed.

The GM/Guide's response: "argh"

Well, yeah, that was pretty much my first reaction as well

So a kind request - create a pike with particle effects for those of us silly enough to spend weeks to get weapons with particle effects ....

PS: Took about 12000 mats to get from lvl 120 to 150 at about 20-25 combines per level. So please don't say "you can always level up another skill tree". I could, but with all honesty, at this point, I simply don't want to.

Don't despair, I think they will fix it with the right one. I don't think they meant it to be 1h.

Yeah except the stat reset won't help, I got 50 levels up the wrong skill tree

It is prolly just a glitch. They can swap it to 2 handed, just bug report it.

Nothing says you have to use all the sp you gained in that skill ... so you have 150 levels in 2h. Now level something else and you have all that extra sp already banked for spending.

Yes you lost your mats ... yes you have that skill and used that much xp to get it. Doesnt mean you have to spend the sp there after the respec.

Hmm, what are you trying to say?

lvl 150 in pike crafting doesn't really help you make 1h lances ... I need ql 160 weapons, not ql10 - with lvl 150 pikes you have a 5% chance to even succeed at making a 1h-weapon. Unless you spend your time actually leveling the 1h tree up.

The re-spec gives you back your training points - it won't reset your levels or change the trees which you decided to level up.

I see the problem maybe - no, I do not have 150 levels in 2handed. The 2-handed tree splits at lvl 100 into Mace / Pike / Sword Crafting. If you have lvl 150 in pikes you cannot make a sword nor any other weapon that level, you can only make pikes. If you had a few levels yourself which I suspect you don't judging from your reply then you'd see the problem ...

Yes you will have to level another skill ... yes you will have to spend more dappers on more mats.

NO you do not have to spend your already earned sp on a skill you no longer want. So all that sp you have earned bank it for the skill you do want.
