Will it be possible to "Bring A Friend" more than once, considering gamers are notoriously picky? lol

great.

Did everyone get a mail like that? or was it just a few random?

I know I got one ;D dont know how they can see that exactly my friend started to play because of me, since he has to buy the game and get a new cd key. can he move the char from the 14 days free thingie or does he have to start anew?

The Email states that U may if you wish share your cds with your friend and he registers with the cd key after the 14 day period your friend has the choice of cancelling the subscription or contiuning which at the end of period the amount for the box will be deducted from CC. Then those 14 days will be taken away from the 30 day free period, if he subscribes after the 30day free period u get 1 month free for introducing him. Its no tthat hard to understand when read properly and i think its not to bad a idea, just sent me disks to a mate just there :)

does the mate then get sent their own copy of the game or have they essentially paid the retail price for merely the cd key?

If I was doing this I would expect at least a non-boxed version of the game (cd's and manual) to be posted to me, or a hefty discount to the retail price.

You're paying for the CD key and the install, no matter how you got it. Anarchy Online works this way also. They don't care where you got the install from, because you're going to pay for it anyhow. You could copy your mate's disks, they don't care. You're paying for it in the end.

This of course would work better if SoR allowed DL of the game also, but from my understanding this will be brought in in the near future.

just seems a bit cheeky to be honest to charge someone who's having to copy the game themselves the same price as someone who buys the actual box version and gets nice cd's and a manual.

they definitely should bring out a (discounted) downloadable version if they want to boost numbers - especially considering the risible distribution to date.

Why should they discount it? The software still costs the same to make it no matter how you got it. Just cause someone can't be bothered to go to their local shop or order it online doesn't mean that nevrax should undercut themselves. That's not fair to them as a company. Not like it's expensive yaknow. And you get the updates for free.
