I am too stubborn to think of quitting Saga of Ryzom yet.
I enjoy Saga of Ryzom too much to quit.
Ergo, I'd 'rather fight than switch'
Why? Because this game is worth it. And, for that, I am thankful.
RYZOM - Great game is so many ways. Keep up the good works and, most of all, have a nice day

Hear, Hear!!!
My characters are still very young and althought I have not been affected by them, I have to admit I am concerned with some of the issues being brought up with armor and harvesting.
I have seen, however, many bugs being fixed since the game was launched and I am confident that with our feedback, this game is on the right track to being a great one.
So I'll stop worrying for a bit and enjoy the game.

Well said , just because a few patches go haywire and the situation is quite FUBAR atm, tis no reason to leave a splendid game such as Ryzom.
Pity the phool who says otherwise

Apparently the nerf bat has started to swing already. More than one good game has been nerfed to the point of making it "not-so-good". Be careful Nevrax. Be very careful.

This is true to some extent. Sometimes, the bat just has to swing, so we'll just have to see what it's like when the dust settles.
It's never a good idea to play an MMORPG at launch. Man, I must be a glutton for punishment...

Nahh... I don't think you're a glutton for punishment. It depends on how you look at it.
Personally, I think it's rather cool to see a game come out and then see how it's balanced out based on how the players play and do things that the developers didn't, even couldn't anticipate beforehand; it's all part of the process. Thus, my sorta baffled responses to some on the forum who are more, ahh.. passionate and perhaps knee-jerk in their reactions. I just personally don't see bugs that are being addressed as being something to freak out over in the scheme of things.
I also disagree with the notion some seem to have that Nevrax (or any company) "swings a nerf bat" to "punish" one group or another. That's a rather ego-centric take on something that affects all players - present and future. Why would any company want to punish paying customers for playing a race or a class they introduced? It's just not logical. "Yeah! Let's put months and months of our lives and thousands upon thousands of dollars into creating a game so we can screw with the players!" They're not "out to get you". They're making necessary changes to balance things out and make the game as level a playfield as possible for everyone. Some will agree with the changes. Some won't.
If you choose to play during the notoriously tumultuous first months of any MMORPG, I think the trick is just to "hang in there" and learn to adjust to the changes as they come until things level out. When Nevrax finally reaches their ideal balance, then you can say "I like it", or "I don't". But before then, it's sorta pointless to try and pin a permanent opinion on what may well be a temporary situation.
