White Colored Peoples Solved!

Hihi everyone - I thought I'd pass on a bit of useful information I've found out in my experiences in Ryzom. After installing new drivers for my FX5700 (Omega's new drivers, and the 66.81), I noticed that most characters and some objects in the game became white shortly after logging in. This only happened when I was using the OpenGL client (since it runs about twice as fast as Direct3D). Wells, I downloaded RivaTuner and started playing with some of the settings, and found that (for me) the cause of this was the 'Intellisample' setting in the OpenGL part. If it was on either High Quality, or the notch to the right of 'High Quality', it'd do it. But, if it was set to 'High Performance' or the notch next to that, it wouldn't.
I dunno if this helps anyone at all, but I thought I'd post it since I'm really proud of myself for solving my problem :)
I realize this is only for nVidia cards, but perhaps there is a setting in the ATI drivers that would accomplish the same thing? If not, might be something to check in to :)
I also want to add that changing this setting in the Omega drivers solved the problem for them too (I'm using them now, 'cause they make stuff look better) :)

What is the "intellisample setting in the OpenGL part"?

I remember, at some point, being given the option to determine High Quality vs. High Performance, but I can't remember where I found it.

I have a friend experiencing very similiar problems to yours.

My own computer has an ATI driver, but her's is different.

Hmms I prolly shoulda been more specific. Wells, after I downloaded RivaTuner from http://www.guru3d.com, install it and run it, you get a little Window.
Now, in the Window near the bottom half there is a section called 'Driver Settings'. Right below 'Driver Settings' is a line that, for me, says 'Forceware detected' with a 'Customize' button at the right-hand side. Click the buttom with the little weird arrow thing and you get a list of icons. Click on the OpenGL icon and it opens a window with settings. One of the tabs at the top says 'Intellisample'. If you click on that you can change the Intellisample settings. Mine is set to the notch just left of 'High Performance' and the two checkboxes are unchecked and it runs great.
I really hope this helps, as I'm not the greatest at explaining how to do things :(
If you like, I can prolly make up a few screenshots detailing how to do it :)
I really hope it works for her, as it worked for me :)

Thank you very much, I'll see if she wants to try it out.

Her graphics controller is an intel, is RivaTuner compatible with that series, do you know?

I have absolutely no idea. As far as I know it works on nVidia and ATI cards. If it isn't compatible, it'd prolly let you know when you ran it. I've only ever used it on either my old ATI 8500 and my FX5700 :(

I have the same white colored people problem, but i have a different comp, which doesn't allow modifications to graphics to much extent (color quality and resolution and that is about it). I can run SoR though, and the performance (movement speed, etc...) isn't very bad, at low settings is preety much playable. BUT I have the "white colored peoples" problem.

My system is:

Asus L3D

AMD 2000+ 1.6Ghz~

512 RAM (64 of it goes to the video card)

SiS 740 video card

Windows Xp + Service Pack 2

Directx 9.0c

I haven't got a good answer on this by the support team (i'm european btw), though they are very fast responding, so was coming here to check if anyone could have a hint of a solution. I have a clue though... I had the same problem playing Horizons, but they told me to change some text in a file and this problem was solved. I don't remember what it was though... :'(

PLS help

I had two "white colored peoples" problems (funny description). One was in a different game (Horizons) and it was solved by updating the driver for my Intel graphics chip.

When I used to be able to run the Ryzom client, not any more due to latest patch :( , I got white sections of people sometime. As in the chest armor was white, but everything else looked correct. Well, I am not helping but that is the description of the problem, anyway.

There is a cure for whiteness?

I am not too sure how to take this! ;p

Wait ... does that mean I can now dance after all those years of rythem-less overbiting? :D

For the record...albeit late....the Intel video chipset would be an onboard intergrated video set.

Not compatable wit Rivatuner
