Goals:

To establish and develop the pre-emnent guild in every aspect of Ryzom, while ensuring guild members get the most enjoyment possible out of the game.

1) To ensure through the actions of members that SoA is well respected as both individual players and as a guild.

2) To ensure SoA has the most advanced and knowledgeable crafters on the server.

3) To ensure SoA has the most advanced and knowledgeable PvM players on the server.

4) To do whatever transpires to be necessary game-mechanic wise to set up and maintain an Outpost in the Roots; supplying both SoA Crafters and SoA combaters with a ready supply of high quality mats and mobs.

5) To ensure that should a larger PvP system be implemented in Ryzom, that SoA is in a position to maximise upon this aspect of game play and be the most competent (and honourable) PvP guild on the server.

Projected Size:

Small to Medium. You can be interested in one or all of the aspects of the game, casual or hardcore; we offer advantages to all but the essence of the guild is player quality over quantity.

Minimum Requirements to join:

Currently level 100 in magic or fighting, or 100 in both harvesting and crafting.

SoA operates on a 2 sponsor and veto rule, so if you are interested the best thing to do is come play wish us for a while!

Races Applicable:

Currently just Zorai and Tryker...we will be getting to more lands soon!

Why SoA:

Dedication to our guild:

SoA has been started by a number of quite experienced hardcore players who have agreed to put considerable time and effort into realising the SoA goals on Ryzom to the same success they have had individually with their guilds on other MMOs. Guilds and players advance and thrive faster when the members work together and help each other, and SoA is dedicated to moving the Guild forward as a whole single unit.

Dedication to our crafters:

Through certain guild events and basic goodwill, SoA is dedicated to getting our crafters to 250 as quickly as possible. We realise that better crafters = better equipment = faster levelling = stronger guild (and richer crafters!). To start with, we will be channelling guild resources towards levelling one player for each crafting line to 250; after that more players will have the option to be included in the lines! Of course individual players are welcome to train whatever crafting they like in the interim - this just applies to our guild sponsored ones. Our sole condition is that our guild-sponsored crafters make items for SoA Members for gratis (assuming the member brings all the mats of course!) For a more in-depth (and better) explanation, please speak to Falc, the SoA High Officer who is in charge of SoA Crafting and Harvesting Events.

Dedication to events:

A lot of fun for a guild can be derived from guild events and playing as a team. SoA will hold regular events such as Boss mob slaying, crossing to other lands, Roots Harvesting etc etc on a very often and regular basis. Some of these are fun, some of these are frankly not so fun but advance the guild as a whole; all however advance SoA and therefore its members.

Sharing of Knowledge:

SoA are proud to have some of the most advanced players on the server; both in levels and MMO experience. The sharing of knowledge - whether it be where the best mats can be found and when to how to cross Roots easily or what mobs to kill for the best xp - makes playing Ryzom much more enjoyable, easy and fun.

Guild Rules:

As our Guild Boards are not yet completed, I have included our guild rules here. SoA Members are expected to adhere to these (pretty basic and obvious) rules.

1) Act with Honour

No KSing, no swearing at players outside the guild. If you choose to play with others who are not SoA, please uphold a good personal and guild standing. Be polite - if ever in doubt of your actions affecting some other player's game experience negatively, ask before you do it. If you do not know what this rule entails, you’re probably not right for SoA anyway.

2) Fair Looting

SoA members are also expected to uphold a fair looting policy with other players they group with. Conversely SoA expects the same from any other player should they be playing with us.

3) Need before Greed

SoA operates a NBG policy, which admittedly has little impact yet, but will hopefully have more once distinct loot items are placed in the game in an upcoming patch. The exact implementation of the NBG mechanism will have to wait on the introduction of such items but the general ground-rule is already in place.

4) Guild before Others

SoA Members are expected to be of assistance to their fellow guildies - in fact it's one of our basic tenets that drive many of our events etc. SoA Members choose guild first, others second; this is a far-reaching concept that again if you cannot grasp your probably not suitable for SoA, but if you have played other MMOs you probably know exactly what this means. Examples include not dropping guild members from groups because more suitable players come along, not selling your resources to the non-SoA players when a guild mate could use them (and pay you the same for them) etc etc.

5) Ventrilo is mandatory

SoA has a dedicated Ventrilo (voice-chat) server. If you have used one before you probably already know of the huge advantages for every aspect of a MMO such a program can have. Members are required to at least download and install the free client and come onto our server while they play. Talking is optional, as indeed is staying in the busy main channel!
