Whats the use of Money?

Its said that money doesn't buy happiness. Its certainly true for Ryzom, at any rate. I am sure that everyone above level 50 is experiencing the same as me, to whit:
1. Money is good for crafting up to maybe level 60 or so. After that, q50 items no longer make you experience.
2. Money is good for levelling range weapon skills.
3. erm, thats it.
I have a big old pile of cash that just keeps getting bigger, because I've not got anything to spend it on. I can't pay someone to repair weapons and armor. I can't buy high grade mats off merchants for premium prices, and I don't really have need of a guild hall. Mats and items must come from players, and if you are in guild they don't cost much, and if you are out of guild the killer is actually finding someone who is willing to sell to you. Half the time, they aren't even after money.
It would be nice to have some other use for the stuff. Am I correct in understanding there are apartments in the game? If so, then perhaps if the apartments are 1. expensive and 2. have some interesting in game effect (crafting workshops instead of just tools?), then it would be somewhere to spend the not very hard earned cash. Personally I'd like to be able to repair hard got weapons and armor.
